Uchiha Tekka

"With me here, what's there to fear? Let anyone who doubts you try to do better!"

Tsunade scoffed.

Kyōichi's experience as a jōnin was undeniably short.

But.

Since when did seniority matter?

Konoha faced threats from three villages.

They needed competence, not complacency. Letting outdated relics lead would only invite disaster.

"Besides."

Tsunade smirked. "The old man's paving the way for me. The more you succeed, the smoother my path becomes."

Kyōichi was no fool.

So.

Tsunade saw no need for secrecy.

To ensure Kyōichi's reforms took root, to prevent Konoha's decay under the old guard…

She would become Hokage.

"I figured."

Kyōichi nodded.

Under normal circumstances, Tsunade's lineage and reputation would guarantee her ascension. Even Danzo had retreated, his Root operatives lying low since her return.

But.

Her hemophobia remained a liability.

The Sandaime hadn't asked, but he'd surely learned of her condition through Biwako. Hence, assigning Kyōichi to the eastern front—a role Tsunade couldn't fill.

Jiraiya guarded the north.

Orochimaru?

Too tainted by his experiments.

With limited options, the Sandaime chose Kyōichi—the better counter to Kiri's mist and water tactics.

"I'll crack that technique soon!"

Tsunade vowed, fists clenched.

Kyōichi would head to the frontlines.

Mastering Creation Rebirth would boost his survivability. But Kyōichi had other avenues for growth:

1. System Rewards: Steady gains in medical ninjutsu, water release, and genjutsu.

2. Spiraling Water Blade: Fusing Rasengan with high-pressure water techniques—a safer alternative to the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

3. Mount Myōboku: Though Katsuyu's silence suggested his body wasn't ready for senjutsu.

For now, he'd focus on the first two.

With the Chūnin Exams over, his team—Kurenai, Shisui, and Asuma—was ripe for further… milking.

Konoha Outskirts, Uchiha Woods

Shisui sat across from Uchiha Tekka, both battered but Shisui less so.

"You have the skill. Why hold back? Don't you want glory for our clan?"

"Glory? The Uchiha need no more fame. Our pride isn't for outsiders to validate."

Shisui's tone was icy.

"So you pretend to be weak?"

"I didn't pretend. Might Guy held back—his Eight Gates can multiply his power. He only opened the First Gate."

"What?!"

Tekka knew of the Eight Gates but never imagined the "green clown" wielded such strength.

Shisui noted Tekka's fading hostility. Perfect.

"Know our clan's true enemy?"

"You mean…?"

Tekka glanced toward the village, hesitant.

"The clan head ordered this. Some in the village want us dead—Root's leader among them. We must ally with those who tolerate us, not fight the whole village."

Shisui spun his web, confirming no eavesdroppers via chakra sensing.

"So we… team up with the Hokage's faction?"

"Rebrand the Will of Fire to suit our needs. Befriend smaller clans and civilians. Isolate Root."

"But how?"

"Start small. Heal your wounds first."

Shisui guided Tekka to Kurenai for treatment, then sent a shadow clone to Kyōichi's home—where a clone was always studying.

"Sensei! How do we 'modify' the Will of Fire for Uchiha approval? Hurry—it's urgent!"
