For the third time, Might Guy launched a spinning kick, its power now a qualitative leap beyond the second.
"Even with that massive gash on his right thigh, it's as if he's completely unaffected," Kisame remarked, a note of genuine admiration in his voice.
"This kind of pain? I've long grown used to it!" Guy roared, his kick shattering the nearby cliff face into rubble.
With the Sixth Gate opened, Guy's speed surpassed even what Kakashi's Sharingan could keep up with.
"Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet!" A rocky serpent lunged at Guy, but a single punch from him reduced it to fragments.
"Water Release: Water Bullet!"
"Water Release: Water Fang Bullet!"
Kakashi, living up to his reputation as the Copy Ninja, executed multiple jutsu in quick succession. Yet against Sixth Gate Guy, these techniques were little more than futile attempts.
Damn it! I can't land a single blow in this state!
"Water Release: Hidden Mist Jutsu!" Kakashi tried to use the cover of mist to shift the battle in their favor.
Guy stood his ground, his face flushed red from the strain of the Sixth Gate.
"Kakashi, let me clear this mist with one strike!"
He clenched his fists, pulling them back in a dramatic pose. With explosive speed, he unleashed a flurry of punches, each so fast that the friction ignited the air, creating a dazzling display of fire.
"Morning Peacock!"
Kakashi's face glistened with cold sweat. Whether by luck or instinct, the fiery barrage headed straight for him. With his vision obscured by the mist, there was no way to dodge in time.
Kamui!
In a desperate gambit, Kakashi activated his trump card. Blood trickled from his left eye as his Mangekyō spun, warping the fiery onslaught into a spiraling rift in space.
Kisame narrowed his eyes, observing the scene.
"This ability… it's just like that mysterious man's Mangekyō powers. So it really is Uchiha Obito."
Within the Kamui dimension, Obito was meticulously working on his Six Paths tools when a sudden blaze of fire erupted nearby.
Heat surged toward him with no room to phase through it.
Shinra Tensei!
The shockwave of repulsion barely deflected the incoming flames. If not for his Rinnegan, he'd have been incinerated on the spot.
Obito glanced around in shock. How could an attack suddenly appear here? Unless…
"…Kakashi," he murmured, his voice tinged with a complex mix of anger and nostalgia.
Obito's gaze fell on the bodies he had been preparing for his Six Paths. The flames had left them charred beyond use.
...
On the battlefield, Kakashi dropped to one knee, utterly drained. The toll of using the Mangekyō without Uchiha blood was evident in his trembling form.
"I'll handle this from here," Kisame declared, hefting Samehada. The earlier skirmish had only fueled his enthusiasm.
"Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave!"
A massive dome of water surged forth, engulfing the battlefield. Kisame floated within it, grinning confidently.
"I've figured out your trick," he said to Guy. "Your Morning Peacock generates fire through rapid punches and air friction. Impressive, but in this water-drenched environment, fire doesn't stand a chance."
"Youth never backs down!" Guy shouted, charging at Kisame.
Kisame smirked, forming a hand sign. "Water Release: Thousand Feeding Sharks!"
Guy exchanged blows with Kisame amidst the swarm of sharks. The battle was a breathtaking display of taijutsu mastery. Yet, the aquatic terrain tipped the scales in Kisame's favor.
"You're good," Kisame admitted, "but in the water, with my sharks and Samehada, you're outmatched."
Guy's body bore fresh wounds—none critical but accumulating steadily.
With a decisive leap back, Guy steadied his breathing. His expression grew unusually grave.
"Oh? Planning to use something stronger?" Kisame asked, intrigued.
"Then I've got no choice but to open another gate," Guy declared.
"The Seventh Gate… Gate of Wonder, open!"
A colossal burst of energy erupted from Guy, pushing the water away and creating a vacuum. His chakra steam turned from green to an intense blue, and his power surged to terrifying heights.
The sheer force shattered Kisame's water dome, sending waves crashing outward.
"Now this is getting interesting," Kisame muttered, his tone more serious.
"Water Release: Great Shark Bullet Technique!" Kisame unleashed a titanic shark, its size rivaling that of a Tailed Beast.
Guy showed no fear.
"Watch closely. This is a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle," he said, preparing his ultimate move.
"Daytime Tiger!"
The punch appeared deceptively simple, but the speed and power were beyond comprehension. The air itself roared as a massive white tiger materialized, charging toward Kisame's shark.
Kisame's confident grin faltered as the tiger tore through his jutsu.
"What? My Great Shark Bullet should absorb chakra… but it's being destroyed?"
Kakashi, struggling to stay conscious, called out, "Guy's moves aren't ninjutsu. They're pure taijutsu. Your chakra-absorbing techniques are useless against them!"
Kisame muttered in disbelief. "So that's how it is."
The white tiger surged forward, unstoppable. Kisame, too late to evade, braced himself.
In the Kamui dimension, Obito's reaction was immediate this time.
Shinra Tensei!
Yet even with its power cranked to maximum, the attack's shockwave ravaged the dimension. Obito looked at his ruined preparations, fury boiling within him.
"Damn you, Kakashi," he hissed.
Back on the battlefield, Kisame attempted to pull back, summoning a massive school of sharks to cover his retreat.
Guy stood tall, his aura still blazing. "Kakashi, I'll get to the bottom of this later."
With that, Guy turned and left. To win, he would've needed to open the Eighth Gate—something he reserved for only the most critical moments. Now was not the time.
Kisame, though battered, smiled.
"What a monster. Next time, let's make this a proper fight."
