When the end came, it did so without any particular sort of fanfare or warning.



Great quakes siezed the Earth all at once, rending the continents to pieces and swallowing whole cities within the cracks. That alone might have been sufficient to bring humanity's chapter to a close.



But then things came crawling out.



They were the Colossi, great beasts of impossible scale - some bearing a passing resemblance to the fauna of the surface and some warped entirely beyond the physical realm. It was in the death throes of these mad titans that human civilization truly came to an end. Even in death, many Colossi persisted, their very essences continuing to haunt and infest the ruined land.



Now, centuries into the future, all that remain of the human race live in the shadows of these titanic corpses.
