"Like you care about her, brother," one of them interjected, dismissing Kael's statement immediately,
"It's only a matter of time before she joined her predecessors, it is not a bad thing for her to learn the truth and learn it now."
"That is enough!" Kael slammed his palm on the table as he settled into his seat next to Anna who had been silent the whole time.
She watched as Kael served himself without calling for a servant to do so just like his siblings. He knew what he wanted to eat and just took them right away from the numerous options that lay at the table.
"Are you scared of being poisoned?" Kael asked, locking eyes with her for a moment and then looking away.
"I'm not," Anna replied with a reassuring smile,
"I just... don't know what to eat. I'm not used to this kind of buffet."
