Could You Be a Genius?

"How can we just let this slide?! I'm gonna beat them to a pulp!"

Natsu was fuming—seeing his guild reduced to this state was something he just wouldn't forgive.

Makarov declared, "That's enough for now. Until we fix the upper floor, we'll work here."

"Who's got the mood to work?!" Natsu shouted.

"Natsu, cut it out." Makarov barked at him, all while his hand mischievously smacked Lucy's behind.

"Why are you hitting my butt?!" Lucy cried out.

"Guildmaster, you're really gonna piss me off if you keep that up."

"Ah, hold on... I just can't keep it in anymore." With that, Makarov dashed off to the bathroom.

Natsu trembled with rage, "How can he be so calm... that old man..."

Mira tried to soothe him, "Natsu... the guildmaster's frustrated too, but the council forbids any violence between guilds."

"Didn't they start it?"

"It's not about who struck first."

"Kitaro, what do you think?"

Natsu shot a questioning look at Uchiha Kitaro. Even though Kitaro was still a rookie, in the Mage Guild, the strong always get the last word.

"Since the guildmaster said so, we have no choice but to follow orders," Kitaro replied, though inside he felt undeniably irritated.

It was like planning to take a nice rest and then having someone smash your favorite chill spot to bits.

Anyone who knows Kitaro knows that when he's in a bad mood, someone's bound to suffer. He's never one to let things go—he holds grudges and retaliates immediately.

"Kitaro... even you... I really misjudged you!" Natsu exclaimed.

Kitaro just winked at him. "Saying that as if you understand me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to crash in the bathroom. Later, I'll go study magic with the old man."

And with that, Kitaro disappeared into the restroom. When he reappeared, he was already in another city.

Kitaro began forming hand seals.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Over twenty shadow clones materialized.

"Who should I transform into?" he mused for a moment. He didn't want to mimic some random stranger—he preferred a form that immediately signaled that Fairy Tail was out for revenge, yet without any obvious evidence linking it back to Fairy Tail.

"Got it!" he announced.

"Go! Destroy the entire Phantom Lord Guild!" he ordered.

With that command, Kitaro and his clones instantly returned to the Fairy Tail Guild.

"Guildmaster, I've completed the mission and brought Natsu and the others back. Now it's time to keep your promise and teach me some magic."

"..."

Makarov was at a loss for words. On the surface, he acted indifferent, but inside he was fuming.

Though the guild members were all seething with anger, it only showed how much they cared about Fairy Tail. Yet that little brat Kitaro acted as if nothing had happened—did he really have that much nerve?

"Teach, teach! What do you want to learn?" Makarov prompted.

"Let's start with the basics, Makarov-sensei," Kitaro replied, pulling out a stack of mage books.

At the sight of all those books, Makarov's lips twitched. He suddenly regretted agreeing to Kitaro's conditions.

"Maybe... we should rather focus on researching how to awaken your magic source..." he muttered.

So many mage books—how long was he supposed to teach him?

"No need. I've already come up with a solution to the magic source problem."

"You have a solution? What is it?" Makarov asked, his face turning stern.

Imagine a guy who never understood magic suddenly claiming, after a month of self-study, that he could solve the magic source issue—who wouldn't be worried?

It was like some farmer suddenly proclaiming he had invented rocket technology.

"Magic isn't something you mess around with. It's deeply tied to your body and soul—mess it up and you might as well be signing your own death warrant. That's why I abandoned the idea of awakening my own magic source."

"Not because I lack magical aptitude, but because my body is too resilient. I'm so robust that even the highest doses of magical particle radiation don't affect me—which is exactly why my magic source just won't awaken."

"So, since I'm doomed never to awaken my magic source, why not use an external one?"

"I've studied numerous mage books. For example, while humans have magic sources, magical creatures have something called magic crystal cores."

"Though humans and magical creatures have differences, the essence of magical power remains the same."

"That's why, if you implant a magic crystal core into your body, it will automatically convert your physical and mental energy into magical power."

"I'm not interested in just any ordinary magic crystal core. I found records stating that although the legendary dragon is long dead, it left behind some 'Dragon-Slaying Magic Crystals.' In truth, these are the dragon's own crystal cores."

"By implanting one of these Dragon-Slaying Magic Crystals into your body, you can access Dragon-Slaying Magic. For instance, Natsu—who was taught magic directly by a dragon—is known as a first-generation Dragon-Slayer mage, whereas mages who implant a Dragon-Slaying Magic Crystal in themselves are known as second-generation Dragon-Slayer mages."

Makarov's eyes widened in disbelief. This little brat had really come up with a solution for the magic source problem so quickly.

Although Dragon-Slaying Magic Crystals were extremely rare, there were indeed a few remaining in the world—further proof that dragons had once roamed these lands.

Moreover, Kitaro's plan seemed highly feasible. In fact, if you could just eliminate any adverse rejection reactions, his solution was bound to work.

The reason was simple: there were already some mages in this world who had become Dragon-Slayer mages by using this method. And as for the person he mentioned—someone he actually knew—it was a truly incredible character.

"Kitaro... you little brat... could it be... you're a genius?!"
