Chapter 541 Sasuke's unease

In Boruto's mind, his father was supposed to be a useless, pathetic excuse for a person, someone who was never there for his family. Even though Naruto was the Hokage, Boruto couldn't see him as anything special. He figured he could probably surpass his dad with just a bit of effort.

But then, he witnessed Naruto's true power. It was in that moment that Boruto finally grasped the meaning of being a Kage. To use chakra to shield against a barrage of attacks, all to protect the civilians as they evacuated.

"Boruto! Take Sarada and get out of here!" Naruto yelled.

Sarada, who had been helping with the retreat, was still caught in the edge of the unfolding chaos, unable to escape yet. Hearing Naruto's command, Boruto turned and ran in her direction, stealing a silent glance at his father as he went.

Dad!

"Leave it to me!" Naruto flashed Boruto a confident smile.

In that instant, Boruto's heart pounded in his chest. He spun around and rushed towards Sarada.

Just then, the Fifth Raikage, Darui, and the Fourth Tsuchikage joined the fight, indirectly buying Boruto time to escape. The two Otsutsuki clan members they faced possessed overwhelming power, attacks that would obliterate a genin like Boruto without a second thought. The ninja in the stands, assisting with the civilian evacuation, watched as the Five Kage sprang into action.

Raikage's Lightning Release Chakra Mode exploded first! A blinding flash erupted as he swung his ninja sword directly at Otsutsuki Momoshiki. But the attack was pathetically weak in Momoshiki's eyes. He didn't even need to lift a finger. Kinshiki, standing by his side, casually intercepted Darui's blade with a single hand.

"Is that all you've got?" Kinshiki scoffed, "Your chakra usage is utterly wasteful."

Simultaneously, the Fourth Tsuchikage, Kurotsuchi, charged forward, activating her Rock Fist technique, encasing her fists in stone. She unleashed a fierce blow at Kinshiki. The instant her fists shot out, Kinshiki raised his hand and summoned a red energy weapon, an axe, slashing down at Kurotsuchi, who barely had time to react. With a deafening crash, the rock armor on her fists shattered, and Kurotsuchi was hurled backwards. She slammed into the wall with brutal force, cracks spreading across its surface like a spiderweb. The mighty Tsuchikage, defeated with a single axe strike.

The watching ninja were too stunned to even react. In the next instant, Kinshiki vanished in a burst of purple lightning, reappearing above Kurotsuchi and stomping his foot savagely onto her face, driving her body deeper into the shattered wall. Witnessing this, the ninja instinctively recoiled in fear.

So fast, so strong… just who are these two? The younger generation of ninja were clueless about the Otsutsuki. But the older generation seemed to remember something, something they could scarcely believe. Wasn't that just a legend? Could it actually be real?

"The Otsutsuki clan? They've actually come?"

"Are these two really from the Otsutsuki clan…?" the older ninja murmured amongst themselves.

The younger ninja were completely lost. "What Otsutsuki? What are you talking about?"

Just as someone was about to explain to the bewildered youngsters, a deafening roar ripped through the battlefield. The ground convulsed violently. Gaara's Sand Burial erupted from the fissures in the earth, a colossal wave of sand surging towards Momoshiki and Kinshiki.

Momoshiki's brow furrowed. "What a nuisance of an ability!"

In a flash, he opened a space-time portal, phasing through the sand and materializing behind Gaara, delivering a vicious kick. At that exact moment, the Fifth Raikage retaliated, lightning crackling as it surged towards Momoshiki. Momoshiki's eyes gleamed with amusement as he absorbed the attack. His Kōten Kōun technique activated once more, unleashing the amplified Lightning Release back at Gaara, who was bracing to counterattack. Even with his sand defense, Gaara was instantly overwhelmed. The lightning paralyzed him, sending him crashing into the stands, leaving a massive crater in his wake.

Shinki watched in disbelief, utterly stunned. Father! His father, so incredibly powerful, had been taken down in a single move… so easily! How could this be? He's the Kazekage! And now the Tsuchikage was unconscious.

As Kinshiki charged towards the Fifth Raikage, Naruto finally made his move. Tailed Beast chakra erupted around him, and Naruto's speed intensified dramatically as he collided head-on with Kinshiki. In a heartbeat, the two traded dozens of earth-shattering blows, creating chaotic air currents that buffeted everyone in the arena, making it difficult to even stand.

Meanwhile, the Fifth Raikage and the Sixth Mizukage, Chojuro, joined forces to assault Momoshiki.

"Water Release!"

"Lightning Release!"

"Combined Ninjutsu: Thunder Water Dragon Bullet!"

The raw power of the combined jutsu exploded outwards, its sheer force leaving the younger ninja awestruck. They had never witnessed such a devastating technique before. The Mizukage and Raikage's coordination was breathtaking. The colossal water dragon, crackling with lightning, hurtled forward with terrifying momentum.

Momoshiki, however, effortlessly absorbed the attack, converting it into chakra that flowed into his own body. Seeing their attack completely nullified, Darui frowned. "This guy… he absorbs ninjutsu way too fast!" They had hoped that even if he could absorb their attack, it would take him some time, giving them a brief opening to strike. But it was done in the blink of an eye. There was no window for a counterattack. Instead, Momoshiki's power seemed to surge even further after absorbing their jutsu.

This was Momoshiki's terrifying ability. Perhaps his base power wasn't extraordinary, but with even a sliver of absorbed chakra, thanks to his Kōten Kōun, he could amplify it effortlessly, multiplying his strength tenfold. A sphere of intense chakra energy materialized in Momoshiki's hand.

"Insignificant insects, allow me to show you what true chakra manipulation looks like!"

A massive crimson Rasengan erupted into existence, hurtling towards the ground with cataclysmic force. If this attack landed, it wouldn't just obliterate the exam arena, it could potentially wipe out half of Konoha itself.

At that moment, Sasuke finally arrived in the stands. Just as he was about to intervene, the Raikage, Mizukage, and Naruto reacted simultaneously, unleashing defensive jutsu. The three Kage combined their might to intercept the devastating attack. It seemed like they could manage it, but Sasuke's gaze lifted to the sky.

That uneasy feeling… it's getting stronger…
