Chapter 624 The Two Uncontrollable Individuals

Losing to his younger brother—this was something Indra found utterly unacceptable.

From childhood, he had always been the winner, the genius, while his brother Ashura was merely someone of ordinary talent. Ashura simply couldn't compare to him. The succession of Ninshu, anything, could be given to Ashura; Indra didn't care in the slightest. But losing to Ashura? That, Indra could not tolerate.

What he found even more intolerable was that Uchiha Sasuke, who had suffered a similar fate, had actually managed to surpass their father through his own strength. If Uchiha Sasuke could achieve it, then surely he could too.

With this thought, Indra looked towards the figure before him.

"I will go with you. I hope you won't let me down!"

Meanwhile, in another location... within the Village Hidden in the Clouds.

Madara gazed at the person standing before him. "The Sage of Six Paths!"

So this was the legendary figure who created Ninshu, the very being who could almost be said to have founded the shinobi world! Just sensing this power made Madara feel invigorated and uplifted. What an awe-inspiring existence! He resolved that he too must become a being capable of rivaling such power.

Unfortunately!

In his current state, he was nowhere near reaching such heights. This was the Madara before his decisive battle with Hashirama—proud and arrogant, but yet to solidify his ultimate ambitions. According to the original path of history, Madara's final goal was to create a peaceful shinobi world. But now, this Madara had changed. Having seen the Sage of Six Paths, something shifted within his heart.

As the saying goes, if you've never seen something, you won't desire it. But once seen, an indelible seed is planted in the heart. Witnessing Sasuke's power had felt like an unattainable peak for Madara, no matter how hard he tried. Seeing the Sage of Six Paths, however, was different. This felt like a height that seemed reachable, as if he could touch it just by raising his hand and standing on his tiptoes.

Now that was truly tempting.

"It seems you intend to go after the Six-Tails!"

A voice suddenly spoke from behind Madara. He wasn't overly surprised; he had sensed the approach.

"Hmph!"

With a cold snort, Madara ignored the newcomer, his gaze fixed distantly on the Third Raikage, who was currently engaging the Sage of Six Paths. Although the Third Raikage could be considered powerful, he was simply no match for the Sage. From start to finish, the Sage was merely toying with him.

"Do you desire power?"

"Uchiha Madara!"

Hearing this, Madara turned to look at the speaker. The figure wore a mask, their body concealed beneath a black cloak. They certainly didn't look like one of the good guys.

"Can you help me become stronger?" Madara asked calmly.

The figure nodded with great seriousness. "Indeed. We can help you reach the next level, make your power even greater. Besides, historically, your strength far surpasses what you possess now!"

"At the very least, the current you has yet to awaken the Rinnegan. We... can help you awaken it!"

A faint smile touched Madara's lips upon hearing this. "Alright."

"What price must I pay?"

"No price is needed. You don't need to pay anything at all. We are simply grateful for everything you once did for the shinobi world! Consider this merely our way of repaying you."

Was it truly just out of gratitude? Madara would never believe such words. He stared coldly at the figure, his face expressionless. His silence alone exerted immense pressure.

The masked figure opposite him sighed helplessly. "As expected of Lord Madara!"

"Your presence is overwhelming."

"Very well! I'll be honest. We do have our own objectives, but whether you align with them depends on your own will."

"We wish to oppose Konoha. If, after regaining your strength, your goals are obstructed by Konoha, perhaps we could become allies!"

"If you have no desire to fight Konoha, then we ask, at the very least, that you do not become our enemy. Consider it reducing the number of potential foes."

This reasoning was something Madara could grudgingly accept.

"For now, it seems acceptable to go and see what you offer."

As for whether danger awaited him wherever they took him, Madara was confident he could handle any situation.

Both Madara and Indra found their thoughts diverging onto different paths. It couldn't be helped; unlike the straightforward Hashirama or Ashura, their minds were far more complex and changeable.

Meanwhile, in the Village Hidden in the Sand, Sasuke confronted Hamura before him.

The killing intent radiating from Hamura was intense. The look in his eyes seemed to scream his desire to devour Sasuke whole.

Sasuke felt a little exasperated. "Are you really sure you want to face me in this state?" He wasn't accustomed to going easy on enemies who bore such murderous intent.

"You killed Mother! I will never forgive you for that!" Hamura declared. "In the past, no one could stop you, but now that I am here, don't even think about escaping!"

"I will absolutely! Never forgive you!"

With those words, Hamura lunged. His instantaneous burst of speed was considerable, not far removed from the Sage of Six Paths himself. His power was not to be underestimated.

However!

Sasuke simply raised his arm slightly. CRACK!

He blocked Hamura's fist with his elbow, standing his ground without moving an inch. Although the ground beneath them shattered from the impact, Hamura's eyes widened instantly in shock. He hadn't expected Sasuke to actually block his attack! And to do it so easily, so effortlessly.

"Your mother was not killed by me," Sasuke stated, not wanting to get entangled with Hamura. Right now, his priority was figuring out Indra's whereabouts.

Hamura sneered at Sasuke's words, his cold eyes narrowing. "Mother may not have died by your hand directly, but you stole her power, leading to her death!"

"The true culprit is still you!"

Alright then. If Hamura insisted on putting it that way, Sasuke had nothing more to say. Action was the only option left.

A cold glint flashed in Sasuke's eyes as he seized Hamura's fist.

"Then let's fight!"

BANG!

Gripping Hamura's fist, Sasuke yanked him forward while simultaneously driving his other fist forward in an instant. It connected solidly with Hamura's abdomen.

The immense force and the sudden explosion of chakra made Hamura feel as though his internal organs had just ruptured. He could taste blood surging up his throat. In that split second, Hamura fiercely gritted his teeth. The chakra within him erupted violently.

BOOM!

With utter purity, he blasted chakra outwards from every point in his body. It resembled a Rotation technique, but Hamura's execution was far more forceful, almost crude. A direct, explosive release!

Sasuke was blasted back by the chakra surge, skidding over a dozen meters before coming to a stop. Stabilizing himself, he casually brushed off his shoulder.

A chakra shockwave.

Though Hamura's Byakugan hadn't evolved into the Tenseigan, the power he inherited seemed more aligned with the Otsutsuki clan's core—an exceedingly pure form of Otsutsuki power.

"Damn you!" Hamura cursed.

Instantly spreading his hands, Truth-Seeking Orbs materialized abruptly. It seemed that compared to the Sage of Six Paths, Hamura possessed an even greater mastery over Yin-Yang Release, forming the orbs with such proficiency.

The Truth-Seeking Orbs shot rapidly towards Sasuke in response to Hamura's movements.

Sasuke rested one hand on the hilt of his Kusanagi Sword.

"It seems you won't learn who's in charge here until you've suffered a bit..."
