As the fighting continued king Colt took some hard hits but he continued to fight king Colt was at the disadvantage his stamina and Mp was getting depleted. But his last attack I believe he tried using dark, death,curse and another magic i did not recognize and end up creating void magic and black hole magic and completely destroyed Melvin. After defeating Melvin king Colt when unconscious and fall to the ground but some of his undead caught him and ran towards the undead navel base as the rest of the undead destroy the the enemies. So even without his instructions they can still operate as if their master did not fall on the battlefield it because they have a command structure. And as far as the citizen know it business as usual there was a message from the palace. That king Colt was injured in battle but the injuries are not serious he is currently recovering from exhaustion and mana depleted. There is a lot of important information we found out with this battle. Like what emperor ask one of his younger advisor first the undead that Colt control will continue to do there duties even if Colt is unconscious which is unheard of usually if you knock out the caster the undead will stop moving and not attack but these undead continued fight even defeat their enemies.
