The brunette girl, overwhelmed by her emotions, pointed the knife towards Li Yue and angrily spat, "Stop lying! I know very well that Master Fu is still single. You think I'll believe your fabricated lie? I'm not a fool!"
Li Yue looked at her, a proud and confident smile plastered on her face, as she replied, "Oh? You don't believe me?" Her tone a mixture of suspicion and mischief.
She arched a brow at the brunette girl before turning her head to face Fu Yichen. She tightened her grip on his arm and started acting coquettishly, saying, "Yichen! look, she is calling me a liar." Li Yue pointed her finger at the brunette girl as she spoke.
"Won't you say anything? How can you stand here and see others pointing fingers at your own fiancée, your future wife!? Explain it to her! Tell everyone who I am to you and serve justice to me!" Her eyes welled up, and her expressions turned to one of extreme pain and hurt as she wiped away the nonexistent tears from her cheek.
Fu Yichen's eyes widened at her vulnerable side, confusion etched on his face; he was taken aback by her performance and didn't say anything. Instead, he kept staring at her, sobbing softly beside him.
Her acting was on full display, and she was waiting for his reply, but when he didn't respond even after some time, she glanced at him from the corner of her eye and pulled on his sleeve, attempting to pull him out of his entranced state.
Li Yue's trick worked, and he quickly looked away, his earlobes flushing red, indicating his embarrassment. He immediately cleared his throat and nodded his head, "Ah, yeah. She's right. She's my fiancée." He said, while pointing his finger at her, his gaze dancing over the crowd as he tried to maintain his composure.
The whole crowd fell silent at his admission, and for some time, it was as if no one was alive. Even his friends were shocked to the very core and looked at him with eyes full of questions.
As for the brunette girl, Fu Yichen's words hit her like a thunderclap, and she felt frozen, with disbelief written all over her face.
"No! This is not true!" She suddenly yelled out, her voice shaky. "How- how can you be engaged? There was no such news. Why would you suddenly be engaged? I don't believe it. This is not right!" She shook her head, her eyes fixed on Fu Yichen as she spoke.
"You... you are just helping her save face, right? You are not actually engaged to her.... right?" She hesitantly asked, her brows furrowed deeply in a pleading manner as she awaited his response. However, his face was stern and expressionless, he didn't show a shred of compassion for her.
Li Yue sneered and stepped forward, standing between the two, as she folded her arms in front of her chest. Her sharp eyes bore straight onto the brunette girl and she spoke up, "Just because there's no news, he can't be engaged?"
"Your logic is really twisted, Miss..." Her words trailed off mid- way, and she bent down slightly, her eyes scanning the student ID card of the brunette girl. "...Miss Bai Xue!" She called out her name while standing straight.
"You-" Bai Xue began, her voice loud and enraged, but she was interrupted mid-sentence by Li Yue. Her eyes widened with shock, and her body began to tremble uncontrollably.
The whole crowd erupted into a chorus of gasps, whispers and murmurs as they saw Li Yue get on her tip toes and plant a kiss on Fu Yichen's cheek publicly. His tie was wrapped around her hand, and she was pulling on it.
She then turned to Bai Xue and arrogantly said, "You can kill yourself for all I care. But stay away from my fiance, otherwise.." she paused and moved closer to Bai Xue, whispering in her ear. "Otherwise the Fu family will find out about you harassing their heir, and they definitely won't stay quiet."
With that, she stepped away and once again held onto his arm, leading him out of there, leaving a stunned audience behind as they made their way to the school building.
Fu Yichen, who was caught off guard by her bold actions, just gazed at her as they walked away, still mesmerized by her beauty.

Once inside the school building, he quickly jerked his arm out of her hand and distanced himself from her. His eyes stared angrily at her as he frowned, "What kind of nonsense was that?"
"Nonsense?" she repeated his words, her tone full of amusement. She put a mischievous grin on her lips and extended her hand, attempting to touch his bicep. "I was just helping you out. Nothing more, nothing less."
However, he swiftly dodged her hand and said, "No one asked for your help."
She was startled for a moment, but then she smiled and looked into his eyes, "You are not forgetting what I asked you last time, are you?" She raised a brow and questioned him.
His memories from their last encounter came flooding back in his mind, and he immediately recalled the words she had whispered that night in his ear.
"I want you to be my boyfriend..... for three months."
Those words fell like a ton of bricks on him, and he intended to reject her, but she stopped him and suggested that he should think it through.
Remembering her flirtatious behavior, Fu Yichen quickly snapped back to reality and glared at her, "But you only requested me to be your boyfriend." He said, trying to reason with her.
"Isn't being my fiance better than a boyfriend?" she asked, lifting her hand to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Anyway, from now on, you are my fiance for the next three months," she said, locking her eyes with his.
"Yichen!" Just then, Fu Yichen's friends called out to him from behind, causing both him and Li Yue to look back as they approached him.
"I've to go now, dear fiance. See you around." Li Yue spoke up, excusing herself, and turned on her heels before walking away.

After the crowd dispersed, Zhao Shui came out of her hiding and walked up to Bai Xue, who was still standing there, rooted to the spot, her head hung low with the knife lying near her foot on the ground.
"She doesn't deserve him," Zhao Shui said while bending down and picking up Bai Xue's knife. "You suit him better," her tone soft as she complimented Bai Xue and held out the knife, handing it to her.
As Bai Xue's gaze fell on Zhao Shui's hand, her tears spilled over, falling drop by drop onto the unknown girl's hand, who immediately enveloped her in a tight hug.
"It's ok. Don't cry anymore," Zhao Shui said, her eyes filled with amusement as she gently patted the disheartened girl's back with a malice smile.
