"You take everything so seriously." Diane said, with an eye roll. Diego ignored her. "So you do remember how I told you that some families came together in order to protect magic?" He asked, turning to Diane and Morris. "Yes, I Do. But that doesn't explain who the lost ones are, or why everyone thinks that I am a part of it." Diane said, while patting Morris's head.
"What you said Is indeed true." Diego began. "Do you know that when the Evergios first awakened, they were treated like monsters. No one really wanted to have anything to do with them. But as time went on, people began to get accustomed to the unique existence of magic, others used it for good, while some used it for heinous deeds, far too terrible to describe. Of course, those that had powers ended up passing such an um, unexplainable factor to their kids as well." Diego paused for a brief moment. "So you are staying that everyone was aware of the existence of magic?" Diane asked. "More or less." Diego stated, as he made himself more comfortable. "The downside was, it eventually wreaked havoc and confusion, since it was predominantly used for performing malicious acts. So the crown made a decision, and that was to seal the existence of magic. There were eight ruling aristocratic families at the time. They are known as the protectors. And each family family has a head which all protectors are subservient to, known as the guardian." "Yeah, my brother is the guardian of our family." Leonia suddenly quipped in. "So that Is why you reacted the way you did." Diane stated, as she reminiscenced some friendly memories. "The guardians are the ones who are considered competent enough to make critical decisions concerning each aspect of their family members. My dad was a guardian as well." He added. "So, is it hereditary?" Diane asked once more. "Not necessarily. They just pick the one that so happens to be the most competent, and by some twist of fate, I ended up being chosen." Diego said. "What about the average people that knew about the existence of magic? Did the five families kill them?" Morris asked, as he sat up. "Morris." Diane called out worriedly, evidently not pleased at the way the word 'kill' could easily Come out of the mouth of a five year old. "What?" Morris asked, innocently turning to his sister. Diane sighed. Of course he wouldn't understand what was going on on her head. "No, they didn't kill them." Diego began, after clearing his throat. "We simply erased their memories, through various means. Like either coming to direct contact with them, or perhaps enchanting their food or drinks." Diego said. "I don't particularly see how this explains the history of the lost ones" Morris complained. "I am getting there, bud." Diego stated. "So after that was all done and dusted, they arose another issue. Three of the families began to find issues with this whole magic attributes of a thing. Firstly, they were strongly against the principles that the other five families set up. Afterall, what is the point of having magical powers if you can't even use it? So they hatched a rebellion, a very severe war against the other five families. Of course, since the three families were being so stubborn, they could not be spared. They were eventually eliminated, but it was believed that the heads of these three families led some of their members to safety. These escapees obviously had to maintain a low profile, so they could not use their powers recklessly. Some of the descendants of such escapees didn't even realise that they possessed such powers, as their legacy and history became lost. And I recall telling you that some people do end up randomly awakening. There are two causes, the first Is that the person actually became fortunate enough to be gifted with magical prowess by nature, while the second and the most common is that they are actually a direct descendant of such lost ones. So, does that make sense to you now?" Diego asked. Morris nodded enthusiastically, while Diane blinked. "I see." She muttered. "But, they was no mention of such a war in all the history books that I have come across, so how come you know all of this?" Diane asked, while slightly tilting her head, visibly confused. "Well, any book that documented that war was eliminated completely. And Agerintia was just a new continent by then." Diego explained. Leonia on the other hand, yawned, a bit bored having heard this tale several times before. "Anyway, we will be completely tanned if we continue to stay out here." Diego said, as he stood up. "You are right, let's head in." Diane agreed.

Diane wore a light night dress that further highlighted her curves, as she bent her head down, drying it. The door opened, and Diego was putting on a simple but elegant nightwear walked in. "So, did you talk to Theodore?" Diane asked, as she stood straight. "I did. I had to make sure that he didn't do a nonsensical job, afterall." Diego said as he sat on the bed. "It Is not his fault if he didn't do a thorough job." Diane began, as she walked towards him."He wasn't ready for the task at hand, he probably just came to the office to see you, but just like you did to me the other day, you shifted your work on him." She said. "Afterall, he isn't a workaholic like you are." She teased, as she sat at his side. "So naughty. You ought to be punished." Diego said, as he proceeded to pull her cheek. "You always love to treat me like a little child." Diane said, as she smacked his hand away. "That is because you have a high tendency to act like one." Diego replied, ignoring Diane's glare. "And besides, I have already made birthday plans for you. Natasha has given me the exact date already." Diane said. "I already told you, I don't celebrate my birthdays." Diego said, with a serious face. "This is the most special day of your life Diego-it is the day you came into this world." Diane lectured. "Hmm, I wonder if this world would be better off without my existence." Diego said, a mocking smile on his lips. "Hey, look at me." Diane stated, as she suddenly took his face into her arms. "Don't ever say that again, this world, no my world will be incomplete without you." Diane began. "Your world? One would think that you are making a confession." Diego began. "I am not confessing!" Diane scolded him. "Think about it, if not for you, who would have redeemed me from Cole?" Diane asked. "Some other guy, perhaps." Diego frankly replied. "But I don't think that guy will be as good as you- So do you understand now? So don't say such things." Diane said, as she released him, while smiling. She strode over to her side of the bed, and laid down. "It is not like you to lie down so early." Diego said as he laid down as well, facing her. "Yes, but today's training session really weared me out, and I am still traumatized by Morris's sunflower." Diane said. "Goodness knows if I will ever be able to look at a sunflower normally again." Diane said, while gazing up to the ceiling, while recalling how the sunflower shrouded the room In complete and utter darkness. If plants could naturally grow that big, she might as well be afraid of them. She heard the sound of stifled laughter, only to find Diego shaking slightly, his hand covering his mouth. But he eventually failed to suppress it, because he ended up laughing out loud. Diane couldn't help but stare at him in awe, it was so rare to see him even smile on a normal day, that she considered witnessing him laugh to be her own good fortune. She took in every little detail- the way he closed his eyes while he laughed, his perfectly white teeth, elegantly carved eyebrows, his smooth yet strong jawline. "Why.. are your cheeks red?" Diego inquired, after he was done with his fit of laugher. "Are they? I didn't realise." Diane replied, as she touched her cheeks, only to discover that they were slightly warm. "If Theodore heard this, I am sure he will be wondering if I have finally gone Mad or not " He said as he laid on his back, while he placed his hand on his forehead. "If that was truly the case, then I am quite sure that he will come down here." Diane mused, having regained her composure. "I guess you are right." He said, as he turned to her. Diane hummed a low tone, while lightly placing her hand on his cheek. "If your humming sounds this melodic, I wonder how your singing voice will be like." Diego said, as Diane removed her hand. "I am quite a goddess when it comes to singing, If you hear my voice now, you will be completely mesmerized." Diane said, her eyes haughty, obviously proud of herself. "Oh really? I doubt that highly." Diego said. "Should we place a bet then?" Diane asked him. "Okay then." Diego said, as he intertwined his little finger with the one Diane placed out. "You will regret this." Diane told him. "I would rather regret it than to end up dissapointed." Diego said. "Hang on a second." Diego said, as he took her left hand and positioned it against his right cheek once more. "Now you can start." He told her. Diane first of all gave a low inhale. She began to sing, gently caressing his face from time to time as she did so. Her bright blue eyes softened a little, while her elegant pink lips became all the more appealing in Diego's eyes. Her pale blonde hair, which ended up In a curl was spread out neartly across the bed, like waves In the sea, made the whole scene all the more enchanting. And her voice, oh, her voice. So melodic and pure, so mesmerizing yet clear. Her bright blue eyes also dazzled at certain lines of the song, it was clear that it was an old song. A fairy.. No, a mermaid was a better way to describe her, as she gradually lured Diego to sleep. The last thing that Diego's mind could think of was how his mother also lured him to sleep like this when he was still little...

The wind blew softly over a magnificent tree. Underneath the tree laid a fair damsel with pale blonde hair, which fluttered lightly in the wind. Her eyes flickered, and slowly it opened up. "Why am I here again?" Diane muttered as she sat up, her heart filled with dread. "You are awake!" A certain girl, who had sat by her side all this while, said.
Diane stared for some time at the girl who sat beside her. Just like Arianne, she was also wearing a white lilac dress. What awed Diane was the information Arianne disclosed to her a while ago. "So you are saying that this place Is Diego's memory?" She inquired. "Oh, my. I am hurt. It seems like you really don't believe Me." Arianne stated, as she tucked her hair behind her ears. "Well then, I guess we will have to wait for Kyle and Eon to come back." She added, with a smile. It was then that Diane noticed that Arianne's ears were pointed- she didn't notice that earlier. "Um, Arianne, don't be offended by my question, but are you a elf?" "An elf? I wish." Arianne said. "Close enough, but I am actually a fairy." She added. Diane blinked. Just as she was about to open her mouth, Kyle and Eon arrived from the same path that they made earlier. "Why is she here again?" Kyle immediately asked, with a snarl. Eon on the other hand, bounded right up to Arianne. "Kyle, be nice." Arianne said, as she patted Eon's head, while giving him a dangerous looking smile. "So should we show her around?" "There is no need. She can just stay here." Kyle stated. "Is it really true that this is Diego's memory?" Diane asked Kyle. Kyle did not respond, but instead climbed up the tree. "Maybe seeing it for yourself will make you believe it." Kyle said, as he tugged on a spherical shaped fruit, which was bright red. Immediately, out of all the worlds that revolved around the tree, a bright red world came close. Although Diane couldn't see clearly because of the barrier, but she could faintly distinguish between when she first met Diego. "You really weren't joking!" Diane said, as she turned to Arianne, who just gave her a small smile. "Indeed. All the worlds that are out there are intricately connected to this one because of this tree." Arianne said. "So these fruits, aren't fruits at all but memories?" Diane asked. "You are not as slow witted as I thought." Kyle said, as he glanced at her briefly. "The fruits hanging at the top are old memories, while those from the middle downwards are new memories." Kyle explained. "So I can see Diego's memories.. but how did I get here exactly?" Diane inquired again. "Well, you just awakened your powers right? So it should be something related to that."
Eon said, as he raised his head from Arianne's lap. "So you guys know who I am?" Diane inquired once more. "Too well." Ariannne said, with a smile. "So you must be wondering who we are, right?" Arianne asked, of which Diane nodded. "The last Time you were here, you must have heard me saying something like, 'fragment of memory, right'" She asked. Diane nodded once more. "Well, it is because I am based off someone that actually existed in Diego'smemories, but I am just a copy." Arianne said. "Unfortunately, I didn't have the exact memories of that person, so don't even bother asking me about who she is." Arianne concluded. "Was the person a fairy too?" Diane asked. "No, she wasn't. I just happened to incarnate from that memory looking like this." She said. "What about you, Kyle?" Diane asked, as she turned to the boy who was idly standing against the tree. "You sure do ask a lot of questions." Kyle observed. "Just answer Diane already." Arianne scowled. "I am his.. subconsciousness, I guess." Kyle pondered. "There, I have answered you!" He added. "No wonder you look a little like him." Diane muttered. "What about you, Eon?" Diego asked the fluffy white wolf. "I think it will be better for Diego to tell you that himself, 8f you don't know." Arianne said, which Kyle nodded. "Alright." Diane gave up. They also told her other things, like what they were fighting against. Apparently, it was Arianne's duty, which she was the strongest as a guardian as well the others, to protect the memories from being corroded from an antagonistic force. If they failed to protect, it, the worst case scenario, Diego may end up an idiot.. for life. "Do all those who have magic possess this as well?" Diane asked. "No, it just applies to Diego for some reason."Arianne explained. "The last Time you were here, we were trying to stop a memory from being corroded. Unfortunately, though we were able to save it, we couldn't stop it from being partially damaged." Arianne explained. This made Diane's heart jump, afterall, who knew if the memory was important or not. "What are you doing?" Kyle asked, when he saw her get up. "Stay still, don't wander around in unfamiliar terrain." He warned. "Oh, Kyle, let her just please herself." Arianne retorted from the background. Diane had gotten up, approaching the barrier of this memory. She saw a planet slowly pass by, revealing someone who seemed familiar to her. As she placed her hand on the barrier, it shone, and the planet also reached to such light. Before Diane could process what was happening, the planet sucked her in!
