1 - A new Crystalbringer from middle school

Middle school feels so much smaller than I remember. Less than a year ago, I walked these hallways, and now everything seems tiny.

I walk next to Brianne, who grabs all the attention. No one even looks at me. They're all focused on her—blonde locks straight out of a shampoo ad, a smile bright enough to light up even the dullest neon here. To these kids, she's a star. Me? Just her humble squire.

«Okay, let's recap,» she says, her tone serious and professional, like we're about to save the world. In a way, we are. «According to the secret service, this...» – she pulls out a device that looks like a mix of tablet and portable console – «...can detect any Crystalbringer with a known crystal within twenty meters. We'll scan classroom by classroom, pretending we're promoting our high school. Simple, right?»

Simple, sure. Too bad our radar hasn't picked up anything yet. Zero. Just comments from overly excited kids.
