16 - My devastating suicidal attack

Anastasia Orlova is proving to be a terrifyingly powerful opponent. Isabelle was right: the strength of the Black Jacket pillars is astonishing. Now I see why she pleaded for my help—defeating them alone for her would have been impossible.

As if that weren't enough, the environment itself favors Anastasia entirely. The heaps of scrap metal she manipulates are an endless source of threats, bombarding us from all sides and giving us no chance to form a strategy.

Without a plan, all we can do is charge blindly—I with my speed and punches, and Rebecca with her flames and the sharp winds from her wings. But our efforts are nowhere near enough. My strongest blows—on the rare occasions I reach the lattice dome shielding Anastasia—only create temporary breaches, quickly repaired by rivers of liquid metal flowing across the battlefield. The same happens with the tears caused by Rebecca's violet flames.
