Thrown Away

Heesoo stumbled along behind him, her wrist still caught in his grip, as they walked through the pitch-black underground.

She hadn’t even known tunnels ran beneath the Temple—but what truly terrified her wasn’t the place itself. It was the situation, and him.

Calix hadn’t said a single word. He ignored everyone they passed, eyes locked ahead, like a man possessed—like he’d already made up his mind, and nothing could stop him now.

That was what scared her most.

She didn’t know what he meant to do, but whatever it was, it was terrifying enough to make her legs tremble with every step.

He was dragging her so fast she kept stumbling, nearly falling over and over.

But he didn’t look back once. Didn’t seem to care if she got hurt. It was like dragging something to slaughter.

She couldn’t believe this was the same man who had once held her so gently, like she might shatter if he wasn’t careful.
