Silence as a Confession

“So, you plan to stay here all night?”

“Yes, I have to keep watch. I need to find out who’s behind this mess before I either rip their hair out or make them pay.”

“Why rip out their hair? You could just report it to the court ladies or Her Majesty the Empress.”

Sinyeong looked her up and down with an exasperated expression, as if questioning why she would resort to such brutish methods when an easier way was available.

Massaging her numb legs, Hwayeong replied indifferently.

“Even if I catch the culprit, this kind of incident is tricky to punish. It’s not like they caused bodily harm or stole anything. That’s why I’ll make them pay back ‘personally,’ tenfold for what they did.”

Still massaging her legs, she kept a watchful eye on the bushes outside.

Sinyeong, puzzled by her words, asked again.

“...Didn’t you just say this wasn’t your residence?”
