Chapter Fifty-Six

My knees buckled, and I stumbled backward, my back colliding with the cold, unforgiving wall. I clutched the towel around me, a feeble attempt to shield myself from the world. I couldn't bring myself to look at him, the weight of the moment too heavy to bear. How had he gotten in here? And what would happen if Lucien found him? The silence between us was deafening.

“You looked so beautiful today…” he murmured, breaking the heavy silence. “I watched you… Your beauty was enchanting… Completely wasted on him.”
