Chapter Fifty-Eight

A dull ache throbbed in my temples as I slowly regained consciousness. The room was shrouded in an eerie silence, broken only by the faint sounds of revelry drifting in from a distant room. My vision blurred as I struggled to open my eyes, the harsh light of the morning sun assaulting my sensitive retinas. A wave of nausea washed over me, and I groaned, trying to sit up. My body felt heavy and unresponsive as if it had been drained of all its energy.

A surge of panic seized me as I tried to piece together the fragments of my memory. The last thing I could recall was being in the castle with Aiden and Calix. What had happened since? Where was I?
