Chapter Sixty-Three

Navigating the unfamiliar layout of the inn's ground floor, my nerves frayed. The din of noise was overwhelming - loud music, boisterous laughter, the clinking of glasses, the shuffling of feet. The stark contrast between the quiet, almost eerie atmosphere upstairs and the vibrant, chaotic scene below was jarring.

As I made my way through the crowd, I felt Calix's gaze on me. I longed to disappear, to vanish into thin air. I was tired of being watched, of being a spectacle. I understood why everyone was keeping a close eye on me, but in that moment, I craved solitude. I needed to escape the chaos, calm my racing heart, and regain control of my emotions before they consumed me.

But the room was so packed full of people. I had to awkwardly squeeze through, the claustrophobia intensifying with each jostle. I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me, a sense of panic rising within me. Suddenly, a hand grabbed my arm. Without looking, I yanked it away and fled outside.
