It seemed like Haruno was serious about kissing Hikigaya right in front of Yukino.
However, such brazen behavior was not something Yukino could tolerate. She quickly pulled Hikigaya back to her side.
Haruno merely chuckled mischievously, refraining from pushing her sister too far.
"Well, since it's on the way, why don't I give you two a ride home?"
"This..." Yukino hesitated but eventually nodded, realizing her plans for Hikigaya were ruined for the evening. "Alright."
"How about Hikigaya-kun sits up front with me?" Haruno suggested, smiling slyly. "You'll be the first guy to sit in my passenger seat!"
"Eh?" Hikigaya blinked in surprise, but Yukino intervened.
"Forget it. He'll sit in the back with me."
"My, my, so possessive," Haruno teased. "I'm not going to eat him up, you know~"
"..." Yukino felt torn, uncertain whether to allow her devilish sister to cozy up to Hikigaya or not. In the end, she decided to let future events unfold naturally.

Back home, Hikigaya followed his usual routine by complimenting his adorable sister, Komachi, over dinner.
Later that evening:
"going for a walk, Onii-chan?" Komachi asked.
"Yeah."
As he stepped outside, leaving Komachi behind, Hikigaya found himself gravitating toward the park.
To his surprise, a familiar figure was there—Kawasaki. She was stretching against a tree, her long legs pressing firmly into the bark, while her chest rose and fell with each breath. Her signature blue ponytail swayed rhythmically behind her.
Hikigaya couldn't help but steal a glance. Those legs... truly something else.
Noticing his arrival, Kawasaki hurriedly stopped her stretches and greeted him, a bit flustered.
"G-Good evening."
"Evening. No part-time job tonight?" Hikigaya asked casually.
"Not tonight—it's someone else's shift," Kawasaki replied, shaking her head.
Their conversation flowed easily as they strolled through the park. However, their moment of peace was soon interrupted by none other than Miura.
Upon seeing Hikigaya chatting with Kawasaki, Miura's brows furrowed, her chest tightening with frustration.
"You two seem cozy," Miura remarked sharply. "She hasn't been talking trash about me, has she?"
"Kawasaki's not that kind of person," Hikigaya assured her.
"Really now?" Miura wasn't entirely convinced but decided to let it slide.
"Let's warm up, Miura," Hikigaya suggested. "I'll leave my training to you again today."
"Eh? Oh... sure!" Miura agreed, though her face flushed slightly at his earnest tone.
After finishing their warm-up, Miura took the lead, guiding Hikigaya through a running session.
While running, she occasionally glanced back at him. Beneath the glisten of sweat, his features seemed unexpectedly handsome—even charming.
Her heart thumped faster. Was Hikigaya always this attractive?
"Miura, I'm fine. You don't need to worry. I won't mess up like yesterday," Hikigaya suddenly said, snapping Miura out of her reverie.
"Is that so? Well, in that case, I'll pick up the pace!" she declared, hiding her embarrassment.
Half an hour later, Miura slowed down, turning to Hikigaya with a grin.
"Nice work! You're getting stronger."
"It's thanks to you," Hikigaya replied sincerely.
"You wouldn't have improved if you didn't try," Miura insisted.
"Sometimes effort isn't enough on its own. It helps to have someone like you—the sports queen—motivating me."
"W-What are you saying all of a sudden?" Miura stammered, blushing.
After cooling down, Miura found herself hyper-aware of Hikigaya's presence—the boy beside her exuding a rugged charm that made her heart race uncontrollably.
Without thinking, bold ideas formed in her mind. When they paused, she turned to him.
"Hikigaya—"
"Sorry, I need to use the restroom," Hikigaya interrupted.
"Ah? Oh, um, sure! Go ahead," Miura said quickly, turning away to hide her flustered expression.
As he walked away, Miura muttered to herself, "What am I even doing? Calm down. I can't let this... happen."
Trying to regain her composure, she felt the night breeze brushing her legs, prompting a shiver. I should hit the restroom too.
Moments later, Miura reached the public restroom—only to freeze in shock at what she saw.
There, in front of the entrance, Hikigaya lay tangled on the ground with another figure—Kawasaki. Their faces were pressed together in a tight, unmistakable kiss.
"!!!"
Miura's eyes widened, her mind reeling in disbelief.
Fury surged through her as she clenched her fists and stormed toward them.
"Kawasaki, how dare you steal a kiss from MY Hikigaya?!"
Hikigaya: "???"
Kawasaki: "!!!"
---
Meanwhile, elsewhere:
"Wha... Wha... Whaaat?! How did this even happen?!" Yukino writhed on her bed, her mind spinning.
Since Hikigaya had shown no initiative, Yukino had resorted to using a forced Intimate card to compel Hikigaya into kissing Miura and pushing their relationship forward.
She had assumed the park was empty aside from Hikigaya and Miura, so she only activated a regular version of the card.
Who could've expected Kawasaki to show up?!
"Ugh... failure again. Why is this so difficult?" Yukino groaned, rolling on her bed.
A few moments later, clutching her pillow, she murmured: "Well, I suppose a kiss with Kawasaki isn't too bad either... not like it's their first time kissing anyway..."
