Alaina's POV

"Are you sure about this?" Henry asked, his eyebrow raised a little. I could hear the worry lacing his words, the quiet hint of doubt. "Michael's going to think—"

"Michael's not the issue," I cut him off, flashing him a teasing smile over my shoulder, before straightening my hair into place. "This is about us. Tonight's just about you and me, Henry. Stop overthinking it."

Henry looked like he wanted to argue, but I didn't give him a chance to do that. Instead, I linked my arm through his and pulled him deeper into the crowd, moving with purpose. We were at an event for the movie, 'Marry Me, Miss,' and I was not about to let him drag his feet. Michael would be here; I knew it. "Come on," I murmured, leaning a little too close to Henry, just enough for him to feel the heat of my breath on his skin. "We'll have fun tonight. Just trust me."
