Chapter 91: Mastery Level Great Fireball Extinction Arrow

"Teacher, I want to challenge the river sprint again!" Obito approached Mu Yue and told him he wanted to try the challenge once more.

It had been exactly four days since his previous failure.

During these four days, Obito had learned Mu Yue's special speed-boosting training techniques, and he had even surpassed his speed limits in a race with Might Guy. Obito felt that he now had the strength to pass the challenge.

The main reason Obito felt this way was because he believed that his repeated failures in the speed challenges were due to not learning the Body Flicker technique.

Additionally, next week's special training would include a practical test, and Obito wanted to master the Body Flicker this week so that he wouldn't be so passive during the upcoming practical tests.

He wanted to defeat Might Guy at least once.

So far, in all of their official combat matches, Obito had never won. Every time, he was just a little bit short. If Might Guy had mastered the Body Flicker and Obito hadn't, he felt that there was no way to win this time.

If the difference was too large, it would be one thing, but it was always just a little bit, and Obito was frustrated.

"Alright, follow me," Mu Yue nodded and led Obito to the riverbank.

The second cha

Mu Yue used many shadow clones and released a large number of Water Dragon Jutsus onto the river's surface.

"Mu Yue-sensei, I'm ready," Obito took a deep breath and began gathering chakra, preparing to sprint.

"Start!"

Obito kept his eyes fixed on the Water Dragons, trying to discern the pattern they followed.

After his previous failure, Mu Yue had given him a hint: the Water Dragons were not moving randomly but followed a specific pattern.

If it had been just a normal 15-meter water walk, Obito would have dashed through it in an instant. However, with the interference from the Water Dragons, charging recklessly was clearly not the answer—it would easily result in him being struck down .

After observing for two seconds, Obito finally saw through the pattern.

There were twelve Water Dragons in total, grouped in sets of three. The Water Dragons in the same group moved in a similar pattern, meaning the twelve Water Dragons could actually be considered as four large Water Dragons.

There was also a regular pattern between the four large Water Dragons. Every one and a half seconds, a brief window of safety appeared between two of the large Water Dragons—a moment when Obito could pass. It was extremely short, almost disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Once he understood this, Obito immediately dashed forward. Once he started observing, there would be no time to react.

While the challenge appeared to have a ten-second time limit, the actual time to act was possibly less than half a second. This challenge tested both observational skills and the speed of instant action.

Once he understood the pattern, it became much easier to complete the challenge. Obito stopped every time he passed four Water Dragons, waiting for that brief moment of safety.

Standing on the water, Obito's eyes stayed locked on the fierce-looking Water Dragons, not daring to relax for a second. He couldn't afford any mistakes. The second challenge had much less room for error compared to the first.

Mu Yue observed Obito's focused demeanor and thought to himself, If Obito can maintain this calm and cautious attitude, his combat ability will improve just as much as if he had learned a high-level jutsu.

"Success!" Obito couldn't help but cheer as he crossed the last four Water Dragons and reached the shore.

"Mu Yue-sensei, I should have made it within the time limit, right?" Obito asked, feeling a bit uncertain.

Mu Yue smiled and nodded. "Yes, you successfully completed the physical challenge."

"Great! So, can I learn the Body Flicker now?" Obito jumped up, his excitement obvious. He had been watching Might Guy and the others performing the technique, and it was driving him crazy.

"Here is the training method and experience for the Body Flicker. Be sure to study it carefully," Mu Yue handed Obito a scroll.

"I will definitely study it seriously and memorize everything in it," Obito opened the scroll excitedly, only to find its contents familiar.

After thinking for a moment, he realized that some of the content was the same as the chakra techniques Mu Yue had taught him to enhance his speed.

Obito immediately understood everything.

It wasn't that Mu Yue didn't want to teach him the Body Flicker; in fact, ever since his first body technique challenge, Mu Yue had been planning to teach him the technique.

The first challenge, the forest sprint, tested his physical fitness, and the second challenge had already taught him part of the Body Flicker technique.

"Mu Yue-sensei, you really are the best teacher in the world!" Obito was deeply moved, understanding Mu Yue's kind intentions.

[You have gifted your student the Body Flicker training scroll. Your student is deeply grateful and rewards you with a critical hit: Great Fireball Extinction Arrow (Mastery Level)]

The rewards from teaching were even better than Mu Yue had expected. He got an amazing reward—a Mastery-level jutsu, and a powerful one at that: the Great Fireball Extinction Arrow.

"Almost forgot, this is your admission fee. I forgot to give it to you earlier," Mu Yue said with a smile as he handed Obito three test papers.

Obito froze, his smile disappearing. He had a feeling something was missing, and it turned out to be the test papers! The one thing he wished Mu Yue would forget.

"Since you forgot, let's just let it go," Obito said, feeling dizzy at the sight of the test papers.

Mu Yue tapped Obito's head with his fingers and said, "You were thinking too nicely, but although I can't exempt you from them, I can offer you an installment plan with zero interest."

Hearing the "zero interest" part, Obito became happy again. This way, he wouldn't have to do as many questions.

Mu Yue then began teaching Obito how to practice the Body Flicker.

Finally, Obito could practice the cool Body Flicker technique. After enduring the difficult process, he practiced diligently.

Hong Dou had noticed that her two brothers were acting a bit strange lately, always huddled together, whispering and sneaking laughs.

"Are you two hiding something fun from me?" the straightforward Hong Dou confronted Steel Iron and Shin Moon Izumi.

"There's nothing fun. We've just been preparing for next week's practical test," Steel Iron explained.

"Really?" Hong Dou looked at Steel Iron skeptically.

"Don't insult our honest character with that doubtful look," Shin Moon Izumi replied, confirming they were indeed preparing for the practical test.

"So, how are you two preparing?" Hong Dou asked.

Steel Iron and Shin Moon Izumi exchanged a look before finally answering, "The preparations we're doing aren't something we can share with you."

Although they were good brothers, they weren't about to confuse Hong Dou's gender.

"If you won't tell me, I'll just have to see what tricks you two pull on Monday," Hong Dou puffed her cheeks.

She decided that if they ran into each other during the practical test on Monday, she would strike hard and punish the riddle makers.

As the practical test neared, everyone was busy preparing.

Some wanted to advance to a higher-level team with excellent performance, while others wanted to showcase their skills to someone they cared about.
