And, since Dojutsu required a lot of pupil power, the brain could only over consume itself to fulfill the user's need.

This slowly led to the backlash of overusing Mangekyo Sharing.

This backlash not only stripped away the usual vision of a Mangekyo user but also damaged the production of that special energy.

That's why Obito was able to use Mangekyo without the fear of going blind, while Sasuke only used it for a month and went blind.

Obito had White Zetsu cells. These cells could speed up recovery. That meant the pupil strain would heal rather quickly, and the part of the brain that can produce the pupil power would also recover faster.

These two allowed Obito to utilize his Kamui without any fear of losing his vision.

There was another way to overcome this problem.

Upgrade the Mangekyo Sharingan to Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. By merging the eyes of the brother or family member, one could upgrade their eyes.

It was similar to adding two eyes to create one. The eyes would improve so much that they could easily bear the strain of using a massive amount of pupil power.

At the same time, since the eyes were connected to the brain, it allowed the required Chakra to improve that part of the brain.

That's why it wasn't possible to swap eyes with other clan members. Otherwise, there would have been several people who could awaken the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Uchiha Clan was a clan of talent, after all.
