SHADY STUNTS

Emerald's brows furrowed as she recalled the events of the previous night. How could Alaric have sent wine to Ariza when he had driven her home?

"Ah, no—"

"Sorry, it's all gone. But next time, I'll make sure to save you some," Ariza interrupted, almost mocking her.

Emerald sighed and tried to ignore Ariza, but her lack of reaction only seemed to fuel Ariza's arrogance.

"Teacher Greene, do you know how expensive the wine Mr. Corrigan sent me was? I'm sure you've never had anything that fancy since you probably can't afford it," Ariza remarked smugly.

Iris, who was also in the classroom, couldn't help but intervene, nearly pulling Ariza's hair out of frustration.

"Teacher Ariza, isn't it enough that you bragged about a few bottles of Château Lafite all night? You sound like you're still drunk," Iris said, rolling her eyes at her.

The teachers around them snickered, and Iris grabbed Emerald's hand.
