Chapter 50:Beyond The Horizon

Freya's POV

The battlefield was a chaotic storm. The sound of howls clashed with the screams of fighters and the gruesome crunch of metal on flesh. In the middle of it all was Kade, a shadowy figure who was ordering devastation. The cold surface of the artefact pulsed as if it were alive, and I held it firmly in my hand.

It wasn't just Kade, though. Beyond the boundaries of my senses, I sensed something else, something ancient and evil. It had been there the entire time, controlling each action we took. This was more than a conflict over territory or retribution. We were up against a force that was much older than any of us.

"Freya! Finnick's voice broke the commotion. His face was streaked with blood, but his eyes were focused and piercing as he stood by my side. "Why do you hesitate? Please put an end to this!"

"I can't!" I shouted back, my voice trembling. "It's not just Kade. Something is something worse."
