She's scared of him

Anna sat curled up on the couch, her body trembling and her mind racing with fear and confusion. Her neck throbbed where Alexander's fingers had gripped her, and her elbow stung from the gash where she'd fallen earlier. Every slight movement sent waves of pain through her fragile body, but it was nothing compared to the emotional turmoil inside her.

She glanced at Marcus, who stood nearby, his face a mixture of concern and guilt.

"Why did you come here today?" Anna asked, her voice barely a whisper, as if she feared speaking too loudly would summon Alexander back.

Marcus looked at her for a moment, his brow furrowing. "I came to discuss some important information about the company with Alexander. When I couldn't find him in his room, I asked a maid, and she told me he was in here. I came to check, and when I heard... sounds—" He hesitated, his jaw tightening. "When I heard you struggling, I broke the door open."
