Chapter 44

Chapter 44

Tanin placed the device down on the desk and let out a deep sigh. Her head throbbed from the constant tension. She was still dealing with the aftereffects of her first shift—pain in her limbs, a deep sense of exhaustion that hadn't yet subsided.

She leaned back in her chair, staring at the ceiling. She needed to act fast, but she also needed to stay calm. Rushing into a confrontation would only make things worse. She would need to gather more evidence, find the right allies, and carefully plan her next steps.

Her thoughts turned to Damian. He had no idea what was truly happening, but Tanin couldn't let him remain in the dark any longer. She could already see how his world would shatter once he found out the truth. It wasn't just a betrayal of trust—it was a betrayal of the very pack he had built. The consequences of his ignorance might tear everything apart. She couldn't allow that to happen.
