Chapter 62

Chapter 62

Damian caught her before she hit the ground, his heart hammering in his chest. Her body was limp in his arms, her skin ice-cold. Blood pooled beneath her, soaking into the marble path leading to the palace.

Panic surged through him.

"Call the royal physician! NOW!" he roared.

Antara was already sprinting toward the palace, shouting for help. Lyra knelt beside him, shaking as she reached for Tanin's wrist, checking her pulse.

"She's alive," Lyra breathed, her voice trembling. "But she's weak, Damian. She's too weak!"

Damian didn't waste another second. He scooped Tanin into his arms, cradling her protectively against his chest. His wolf roared inside him, frantic and restless.

"Get out of my way!" he snapped at the guards as he stormed toward the palace.

The crowd was silent now. The same people who had thrown stones at Tanin, cursed her, and called her a traitor now watched in shock as she lay bleeding in Damian's arms.
