Chapter 92
Tanin sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the closed door as if she was still considering going downstairs. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep easily after that nightmare. Every time she closed her eyes, she could still see her pups lying lifeless, still feel the way her heart shattered when Darius snapped Selene's tiny neck. The sheer terror and helplessness from the dream clung to her like a second skin.
She took a deep breath and started to stand, but Damian caught her wrist gently, stopping her.
"It's already night, Tanin," he said in a quiet but firm voice. "You need to rest."
Tanin sighed heavily, looking away. "I don't know if I can."
Damian squeezed her wrist lightly before pulling her closer. "You don't have to be alone, sweetheart. Come to bed."
