Damien stood in the war room, his steel-gray eyes scanning the map before him. The locations of old rebel camps, hidden supply caches, and abandoned fortresses were marked in red. Any one of them could be where Lucien was gathering strength.

Erynn sat across from him, flipping through intelligence reports. "Lucien was a ghost even before Calder's war. He never held any official power, never commanded armies. If he's resurfacing now, it means he believes he can win."

Carys leaned against the table, arms crossed. "That means he has allies."
