The influential figures and the association were in upheaval over the presence of a high-ranking Necromancer wandering freely without being hired.
This led to a competitive rush among guilds and the association to locate the enigmatic Necromancer, who wore a plain black mask with only eye holes.
His shabby attire suggested he wasn't affiliated with any guild, as guilds would typically provide at least Erith-rank mage armor for a Necromancer of his caliber. Moreover, a guild would not usually allow such a powerful individual to operate solo.
In smaller cities, S-rank or even A-rank individuals are highly esteemed. Meanwhile, large cities face a scarcity of SS or SSS rank class hunters, who are essentially hidden, unparalleled powerhouses of the later stages. Awakening with such a rank guarantees an unimaginable surge in one's status and opportunities.
Returning to the story, our protagonist was waiting for his turn to sell his loot. He had learned that Deepdelve Butchery was practically a giant in the monster meat industry, supplying meat to almost all major companies and organizations.
They operated numerous branches across various cities and countries.
Having already paid the toll tax to use the gate of one boar, with the privilege amount deducted as before, he encountered no issues. The officer at the gate merely noted his hunt verbally without requiring further proof.
"Hello sir, how may I help you?" one of the attendants asked Evan when his turn came.
"Oh hi, I am here to sell my hunt."
"Okay, sir, then tell me the number of creatures you hunted and place the bodies beside the desk so we can negotiate based on their condition."
"Sorry, I can't take the bodies out right here as the sheer number is large. Can we head toward a more area to inspect them?" Evan suggested.
At first, the attendant thought that Evan must have hunted one or two bodies and was hunting solo, so he couldn't have more than that beside his party as most hunter always sell their share of corpse by their own. But after hearing his words, he started to think that maybe Evan was here on behalf of a big team who went on a hunt.
He nodded and signaled him to follow.
After walking toward one of the spacious areas where the butchering was going on, he asked Evan to call out all the bodies.
Evan nodded and ejected all of the bodies in front of him. When he did, the attendant's eyes nearly popped out as a huge heap of boar and stag corpses appeared.
He started to count them while Evan remained silent and let him do his work. After roughly five minutes, he finished and said, "Sir, is 13 Wild Stags and 61 Boars the amount you wish to sell?"
Evan nodded, and the attendant went to call out many laborers to put them away and calculate the amount he had to give to Evan.
While Evan stood in front of the corpses, he looked around and found no one. So, he activated his talent and started to plunder the last bit of benefits he could squeeze.
"{Plunder}" he said, and the whole 61 bodies covered in talent energy as the energy hovering above started to drill down inside the bodies and showed the notifications.
[
He looked at the upgrade and found his vitality and endurance increasing as his body started to resemble someone who had just taken a sauna bath.
His whole-body skin turned red and remained so for a few minutes before it started to fade. The reason for this was that both his stats had reached the Red spectrum, causing a sudden increase in both stats simultaneously.
Even a body cannot handle such pressure from a sudden strength unless it is godly one.
Now, only his intelligence stat lagged behind, but even that would catch up if he used his unassigned stats.
However, not right now, as his body had just undergone a change, and he could not afford to inflict more harm on it, especially since his soul was damaged.
Yes, his soul had been damaged when he traveled to this world in accident.
He was lucky to survive, but his situation was not good either now, though could manage.
'Thank god, that attendant didn't appear while my body was changing,' he said as he observed the attendant with a smile, followed by someone trailing behind.
He hadn't seen him before, but to come here without any permission, must be a worker or attendant like him.
"Sorry for the delay, sir. Here is my manager, who also wishes to see such a significant seller of bodies, so he couldn't resist and came here with me."
Evan just awkwardly nodded as he did not need some fortuitous encounter like the male lead, who got connections to ascend to higher stages.
He did not require such a thing as he wouldn't be staying in Ceruleth for long time after eliminating all the sent protagonists to this world.
"Hello, sir, I am the manager of this branch of Deepdelve Butchery. I am here to facilitate this transaction smoothly and ensure no issues arise in the trade."
"So, you have 61 Boars and 13 Stags, which is impressive, but where is your team leader, or are you the one who led them? Just asking because it's hard to believe that a single can hunt them all, beside no hunter is allowed to come inside solo so please tell me the team of the hunters you're part of."
The manager spoke as he examined the neatly cleaned corpse.
"Oh no, I am a solo hunter and a necromancer, so you don't have to worry. To prove that I am a solo hunter, here is my ID card issued by the association and the Solo wolf mark for solo hunting permission," Evan said, showing his ID.
When the manager heard the class name Necromancer, his ears perked up instantly, having heard rumors about a prodigy necromancer.
He became suspicious that this kid might be the one, but when he saw Evan's class grade, his excitement and suspicion vanished instantly, as the rank was merely D, whereas the rumored prodigy was at least A.
Nonetheless, the large number of corpses did arouse some suspicion.
However, he said nothing and instructed his worker, who nodded and approached Evan to convey the message.
"Sir, considering the amount of damage and the high number of corpses, we have decided to buy these boar and stags for 39,000 CP and 46,000 CP each, respectively."
"Hmm, but the amount of damage is minimal. I have sold to you before, and the initial trade price your butchery offered was 35,000 CP each for boars and 42,000 CP for stags back then. Now, even though one boar has a maximum cut of three you are still lowering the price. I want 40,000 CP for boars and 48,000 CP for stags. Take it or I will leave, as there are many butcheries that will accept this trade," Evan said, recalling his past transactions and noting the improved condition of the corpses, yet the price offered was still lower than the market rate.
"Sir, but..."
"No, if you are not giving me the exact price, then let me leave."
Evan began to load the corpses into his inventory.
"Okay, wait. We will deal at the amount you agreed upon, but listen closely, I have a condition."
"What...."
"You need to sell your hunted corpses to us every time you hunt, and not just this dungeon but in every dungeon, you hunt," he said, as if this kid really is a proficient hunter who can take bring the same amount every time, then the risk is worthwhile.
"Hmmm! Okay, deal, but I need the best deal for all the trade."
"Don't worry, we don't make deals without any loyalty."
Evan nodded as his haggling skills, which he learned from Rose back then, worked and he was able to get a little more profit than usual.
"So, sir, if your deal is complete then the estimated price for the boar is 24,40,000 CO, and for the stag, it should be 6,24,000 CP. Totaling both should be... 30,64,000 CP. We can proceed with the transaction outside the dungeon."
"Well, don't forget the promise, sir, and you, carefully complete the transfer outside," the manager as he saw Evan leaving and told the attendant, who just nodded but informed Evan to go outside, and he came in seconds.
"Sir, why did you agree to his amount of money? We really gave our best deal and still you gave him much more."
"You won't understand. If what I am thinking is true, then we may have just met the Prodigy Necromancer who is going viral in the city."
"Huh, isn't he a D rank and the class rank of that Genius should be A or S rank at least."
"You won't understand the tricks. Just follow the lead of mine, and maybe we can form some sort of connection with this guy who may someday help us get to the top in the meat industry."
The attendant, who heard him, just nodded and went outside toward Evan, who was waiting, and they both left the dungeon. The attendant quickly sent the money to his account via online payment.
"Thanks for working with Deepdelve Butchery, sir. Hope we will work together more in the future," the attendant said as he went back inside the dungeon to continue his work, leaving the now Evan dazed, viewing his account details.
His current balance was 32,23,063 CP, which was earned in two days, suggesting that his life was going well. However, many things remained a mystery to him.
Such as the two items he received from the ten thrones, which disappeared within him, and the new system appearance of the God candidate.
The message of an unknown relic and the talents he possessed.
His physique vial, which would come in handy in a few days at most, given his progression speed and the effect he would get from it was still unknown.
The egg of a companion, whose contents was still unknown until it hatched.
While he could still find answers mysteries, the only problem he could solve immediately was where to spend such a vast amount of money.
He currently had 3 million in cash, which he couldn't fully utilize even if he bought tens of armor. He needed to find a way to spend the money, as it didn't matter much except for the Nexus gold he would receive in Prime Nexus.
As he pondered and looked around, got an idea that seemed worthwhile and wouldn't regret spending money on.
He took out his phone, searched for something, and found three places in need of money.
He took a taxi to the first place. His destination was quite different from other areas, as an old-looking big building stood in front, with many children playing in the small garden.
The place he arrived at was an orphanage where children who lost their parents in monster raids were raised.
He also remembered that in his past life, he had struggled a lot before awakening, much like these kids.
These types of orphanages were mostly run by associations to help young children until they reached eighteen years of age and even provided a free awakening trial.
If awakened, then good, but if not, life is a living hell for them.
Deep in thought, Evan stepped through the door, catching the attention of every child in room. Their eyes fell on him and instantly scattered in fear—Evan's appearance was far from reassuring.
His clothes were stained with blood, and he still wore his armor and mask.
To the children, he looked like a villain.
Sighing, Evan made his way into the building and approached one of the caretakers to inquire about director or head of management of the orphanage.
The caretakers, though trembling slightly, feared something bad was to unfold.
Still, despite their apprehension, they led him to the office, where Director had already been informed of his presence.
"Hello, sir. I am here to do something," Evan began
"Hello, but let me make it clear—we have no interest in illegal dealings or selling this place. If you continue to pressure us, we will report you to the association," the Director replied sternly.
"Huh, it seems there's been a misunderstanding, sir I am not here for anything. I am here to donate some cash."
"Then you're not with that guild trying to seize our land to build their here?"
"No, not at all. I don't even know about them. I wish to donate funds I find excessive handle. Rest assured, it's legal."
After explaining his intentions, Evan endured further questioning before the Director finally accepted his offer.
"Thank you for this donation. Our orphanage was in dire need of substantial funds to repair and renovate the premises as the risk of accidents has risen significantly due to the building's age," the Director shared, providing the account details for the donation.
"Oh, no problem! If this modest amount can help you renovate the building and bring happiness to the children, I'm glad to contribute," Evan said he transferred the money into the account.
The director expected the donor to give ten thousand or at most fifty thousand to show his sincerity. But instead, he received a total of five hundred thousand, which made his hands shake and his eyes blur. He asked, "Sir, maybe you sent 500,000 by mistake instead of 50,000 CP."
"Oh, don't worry, sir. There isn't any mistake. I am donating that much. So just renovate the building. You all are much higher for taking care of traumatized kids who need help to overcome their pain and suffering, which is greater than killing monsters in a dungeon, where this money came from and if not used well then just going to be waste," Evan said as he left the room and went outside to the next two orphanages.
Many caretakers and older children came to the director's office to check if he was okay. They expected him to react like he had in previous situations.
"Sir, are you alright? Who was that guy? Is he from the same guild that wants our orphanage land? But don't worry, we won't back down without a fight. Today we will report it to the association."
"No, you don't have to. That guy wasn't a bad person but rather a very kind man who knows the suffering of the kids and us, as if he had gone all of this by his eyes. He came here to donate, and not a measly amount like those fakes who try to look big by donating pennies, but a genuinely good person with a very big heart," director said. He didn't say more and told them to leave. What he felt was a cry of happiness for the help he received from the unknown passerby who helped their almost closed orphanage and brought new hope for the kids.
"Oh God, may this kind person never any as long as he lives," he prayed. Little did he know that the little big or small donation yet significant kindness.
Evan showed would bring about a change in all three orphanages he donated to.
As spies observed, they saw Evan with the same mask everyone saw in the dungeon, now at the orphanage. This caused all guilds and associations to go wild, checking the list of all orphaned hunters who came from the orphanage. Assumptions were made that the Prodigy was also an orphan.
Meanwhile, unaware of the commotion, Evan stepped out of the taxi, after visiting all three orphanages to donate, full of tiredness.
He spent 1.5 million CP in one day, yet felt no guilt or sadness; instead, he felt at peace with what he had done. As stood in front of his house, he began to climb the apartment stairs to his floor.
He was lost in thoughts about the reactions of orphanage upon receiving the money. One was shocked, while the other two very happy and even offered him a cup tea, despite judging him bad by his appearance, just a moment ago.
Evan smiled slightly over the things happened today and went to his room to rest from the exhaustion of the dungeon and the day's activities. After putting away his armor and clothes, he took a bath to remove the dirt and blood of the monsters. Once he changed into new clothes, he fell onto his bed and went to sleep, while a new uproar was brewing in the city.
Many guilds showed interest in the orphanages, sending large donations to establish good connections with the necromancer and attempting to obtain his details in exchange for the money. However, the orphanages provided no information. No one agreed to reveal anything about him, not even a tiny bit.
Even the bank details from which the money came were deleted, preventing anyone from trying to hack and discover their benefactor
Even the main donors, CGA, were unable to obtain any information as the race to find the Necromancer fell into the hands of high-ranking officials like the Branch Manager, Vice Manager, and Guildmaster, nothing was discovered, as even the appraisal was not working on the Necromancer.
Unbeknownst to Evan, he was scanned multiple times, yet nothing was found about him.
The sole reason for this to happen was his sympathy, Evan felt towards the children who lost their parents.
He could empath due to his second life as an orphan as well his life on Blue planet.
While he was still an orphan this life, his situation was not as dire as before.
But for how long and to what extent his life would remain good, no one knows, as danger could loom from anywhere at any time.
