I can hear the loud ringing in my ears, drowning out the rest of the noise in the room as I slowly open my eyes.
I blink several times, squinting my eyes before I'm able to make coherent images and see the people standing in the room.
My head is banging with a lot of pain and breathing feels like I'm dragging in hot lava instead of air.
I groan and try to sit up but notice one of my wrists is cuffed to the bed. Confused, I furrow my brow and turn to my other hand but thankfully, it's free.
My gaze falls on the three figures standing in the room, their mouths moving as though they're having an intense argument.
I clear my throat to grab their attention.
"She's awake." Mira says dryly and Sanders comes running over to me.
He plop into the bed beside me and grab my arm, checking for whatever I can't exactly place my hands on. His face is scrunched up in concentration and my lips pull upwards in a smile.
