Chapter 54: Screams Of Fear

I wave the last goodbye to my best friend before heading back to the car, wiping a lone tear from my eye because I'll miss.

Serene had gotten a work call just after we were scared off by the shattering of the glass from my window while we were talking. It had been so impromptu that she immediately started to pack her things and booked a new flight to leave.

After the uncomfortable conversation about Theron, I promised her that I would do my best to keep my feelings in check and also find a way out even though he is my mate, because of all he's done to me.

But as I'm hopping on the car right now, everything I promised her seem to be looking harder than I initially thought as Theron is staring ahead with his hand firmly on the steering wheel, his jaw ticking with impatience.

He turns to look at me once I've settled in and clicks his tongue.

"Why are you crying?" He asks.

I turn to him with a raised brow.
