It has been a couple of days since Sunny had to put the Song sisters in their place and had not heard of them since.
No wonder.
Morgan immediately excuses herself and is suddenly not interested in making Sunny an ally of Valor.
Even she had accepted defeat after what Sunny had threatened the Song Sisters with. She had standards after all and a Mentally ill man like him was too much of a risk to put among the Ranks of Valor.
No matter how powerful.
Which sits just well with Sunny. Nobody would disturb him any further and therefore he could continue his peaceful life with Nephis and bring himself on the path of healing.
2 things needed to happen for that but only he knew and both were not an easy task.
Granted, one of those problems was the root of the other but by solving it he wouldn't get rid of all his problems. One man needed to die and he was not able to kill him since that too was An order he had to follow.
Just like his Master was unable to kill him. For reasons he could not explain to anyone without risking death in a way he wouldn't wish on his biggest enemies.
But there was someone out there who was exactly Like Sunny and had not been Enslaved by anyone and was free to do whatever he wanted. Sunny just had to bring him back for the sake of his own life. Even though he hated the wretch he knew that the thing hated him even more.
And Knew everything about him since he technically was him. Being an impossible combination of hatred and Sunnys mind, the Sin of Solace was perhaps the only way of Solving this problem.
'Spider has been working Day and Night on finishing that Memory. I hope we will get it done today.'
It Was time to pay his loyal Shadow that he received after making advancements in Shadow Dance and reaching the next step he had been experimenting a lot with the New Sibling of Serpent, Saint, Fiend, Nightmare and Mimic.
The new addition to the Ranks of his perhaps most valuable arsenal of weapons had one Ability that was perhaps the most useful out of all of them.
It could Weave. Why a shadow he received from the Aspect legacy that was closely tight to Shadow God could Weave was up for his interpretation.
In the end he couldn't care less.
What was important and of high interest to him was the fact that Spider was seemingly only able to Weave but no Master in It by any means. So Sunny had to teach it like he had teached himself.
Spider could not talk like any other of his Shadows except for Fiend who was better off keeping his mouth shut anyways.
So it could not ask any Questions so instead Sunny had to observe it constantly and point out any mistakes it made along the way. Teaching a Spider Weaving was truly a new experience for him but it was all worth it.
Since the day he obtained his new Shadow which has been 2 years now it has reached his Level of Skill. So the two could work together without uttering a single word and create truly powerful Memories and Echoes.
And the one who would bring the Sin of Silace back Was almost finished as it seemed.
Sunny had banished Spider along with one of his Incantations in the Basement of the Nameless Temple for obvious reasons. For one they wouldn't be disturbed by anyone else and they were mobile in the Case of an Attack.
'The damn thing can teleport after all.'
The damage the Nameless Temple had, has been Repaired by now and the thing stood now in its Former Glory.
'By the dead gods I hate that word.'
He thought bitterly but not with a hint of pride for his Craftsmanship while looking at his very own Citadel. What kind of Saint would he be if he didn't have his own Citadel?
The Incantation of his that resided in the Nameless Temple descended The Stairs until it reached the Basement. Sunny had long given up on figuring out how the Divine Sorcery that gave the Temple the Ability to Teleport worked. It was utterly impossible for him to even begin to understand what the God's were Capable of doing.
So he wasted No time by even looking at it nowadays. Instead he walked over to Spider and it's self made home. A cocoon made out of Black threads towered before him and had taken half the Basement over.
Walking through the entrance that looked like it was made for a Giant he felt like he was in danger. Not that he would accuse his loyal Shadow of scheming anything But Sunny has never been a Friend of Insects even though Spiders did not even belong to that Category. As arachnids they belonged to a different kind of Species but the similarities were there and that alone made him uncomfortable.
"How have you been, Spider? I hope you made good progress with the Memory."
He said amused hiding his nervousness for the sake of Showing his companion the deserved respect.
Spider just looked at him with its countless eyes and gave him a nod while clicking with his Fangs.
Clearly happy to see its Master It made way for him To look at its progress. And what Sunny saw brought a smile to his lips that could not be fake.
He had Pondered a lot about what Enchantments the Memory needed and came to the Conclusion that things were Very important.
For once the Sin of Solace needed to be contained. He wouldn't risk one of his friends being plagued by a spiteful wraith for the rest of their lives but that was actually the less dangerous thing about it.
After all, the Sin of Solace also had knowledge that could Corrupt anyone who dared to listen to it so he had to use some of the properties the Estuary Key had to seal that knowledge away.
He had studied the damn thing hours upon hours and although back then he was unable to Weave such complicated Enchantments himself he had remembered its spellweave Perfectly.
So in order to protect his friends he at least made sure to seal that knowledge away.
Now only the question is how to spare them from running around with a spiteful, irritating wrench that they couldn't simply kill all the time.
The answer was simple though.
"He will be able to walk around freely, in a fixed radius, around the Memory as a Conjured Illusion. Isn't that genius On my part, Spider?"
Again, countless eyes just continued to stare at him without a hint of Emotion dwelling behind them. Instead Spider just nodded Slowly and blinked with some of its eyes.
"Ahem…anyways. Now we just need a Vessel for the Spellweave."
Sunny had no idea what to choose since it wasn't really important. All he cared about was that it should be sturdy and stable. So he had decided to use a Clock for its Vessel. At least that way one could tell the time while holding a conversation with The useless wretch.
So that they at least could tell how much of their lives they had already wasted while talking to it and limit that to a Minimum.
He laid the Silver Color metal Casing on the Ground beneath the Spellweave that Spider was effortlessly holding up with its Legs and ordered it to combine the Vessel and the Spellweave.
Spider worked masterfully and steady While doing so and seconds later a Memory of the Supreme Rank was born.
Sunny looked at their Creation with hope and Anticipation as he brought a hand to it. Seconds later the Spell was whispering into his ears.
[You have Obtained a Memory]
He summoned the Runes to look at the new Masterpiece and quickly found it between shattered pieces of his Runes.
Name: Obnoxious Clock
Type: Relic
Rank: Supreme
Tier: V
Memory Description: Born from Hatred and the Mind of a Divine Shadow the spiteful wraith was called from its Grave to snitch on someone he hated the most in every possible world. Even more than the one that put him to rest in the first Place with 2 words that banished him seemingly forever, "Be gone".
Enchantments: [Safe to Use] [Return from Grave] [Chained]
[Safe to Use]: The hateful wraith contains knowledge that is Forbidden and full of Corruption so the Divine Shadow and his Companion put a muzzle on it to keep everyone who decides to listen to it Safe from said knowledge.
[Return from Grave]: Something that has never been alive could have never been truly dead. So the Obnoxious Clock is able to bring the Wraith back from wherever it was sent to.
[Chained] In order to keep the world safe and a better place the Spiteful Wraith is not able to move past a Radius of 10 Meters around the Obnoxious Clock.
While analyzing the Runes of the Obnoxious Clock sunny couldn't help but Chuckle. Some of the things written about it were his own doings while others that he didn't care about were created by the Spell, like the name and Description of the Memory.
"Seems like the Spell has gotten Mad too. That it would use a word like 'Snitch' is crazy."
(Author here: I'm writing this at almost Midnight while I have been up for far longer than I should be since tomorrow I have work and need to wake up at 4:30 am but writing somehow seems more Important. So forgive me if I didn't find it in myself so care enough to put much effort into making this Memory. Anyways, back to the Chapter.)
Sunny had a smile on His lips. He thought the reason for such a smile was forever lost to him.
It was Hope.
Not the Demon of Course but the genuine feeling of seeing Light at the end of the Tunnel. He could Only hope that said light was not a Train threatening to Crush his World once more and make him fall deeper into Despair than he already has.
Focusing on his Main Body he looked at Nephis sleeping Body next to him on the couch. She seemed so peaceful and Beautiful as always. The Snoring was The only Flaw he could find with her.
'Nobody is perfect after all. Also… it's cute.'
He thought while planting A kiss on her Forehead. She subtly began to smile as he did but didn't seem to have woken up. Just her body alone reacted to him.
Now he had to make Everyone he wanted to bother with the Task at hand to gather and be informed by the Sin of Solace who would finally reveal the secret he couldn't share.
'Cassie?'
[Yes, sunny?]
'The memory is finished, we can gather the Cohort now.'
[That sounds wonderful, I will contact them all. How is Nephis doing?]
'Ahhh you Know, except for the Snoring I guess she is fine.'
[Good, I know you don't remember but What you 2 have been through has turned you 2 into more than Lovers, you are Soulmates.]
'I know, it must have been quite the ride.'
[It certainly has. We will gather at Nephis Mansion. I suppose you don't plan to be there, right?]
'Certainly not for The interrogation. But I will drop off Nephis.'
[Good, there will be a Lot more people than you think.]
'I thought only our Cohort would be there.'
[No sunny, there are far more people that care about you than you think. You will see.]
'Alright, see you later.'
Confused by Cassie's words, Sunny could only wonder what she meant exactly. He knew he had Forgotten, but how could there be anyone else that cared about him? It even surprised him that he managed to form a bond with his Cohort.
He was not a trusting person and not particularly kind either. His Flaw was perhaps the only reason why he ever had a Chance to form a relationship with anyone. It forced him to be truthful with people.
Without the mask of deceit there was nothing he could do but to show them his true self. And that's what gave him the possibility to forge said bonds. Without his Flaw Sunny would have been alone forever, with nobody to trust and nobody to care about he would have died years ago.
"Nobody survives in the Dream Realm alone."
He mumbled to himself while continuing to look at Nephis. He couldn't get his eyes off her. And he couldn't get rid of that permanent grin. He Loved that smile her presence forced him to.
For that lone reason he was actually thankful to have received such a Flaw.
