Chapter 200: Judging Right and Wrong Through the Lens of the Present Is Shortsighted

Ashura gave an awkward laugh.

He instinctively wanted to retort, but as Hyuga Fuji had pointed out, mutual understanding wasn't about forcing others to accept one's ideals.

And unlike Naruto, Ashura had lived for over a millennium, gaining more experience and maturity. He wouldn't waste time arguing over such matters.

"It's a foundation..."

Hearing Hyuga Fuji's response, Indra murmured thoughtfully, "So that's how you see it... Then, how do you view the seal and techniques I created?"

When Indra invented seals and techniques, he had foreseen that they would one day be used in warfare. He had even discussed this with his father, though in the end, he himself could not escape the role of a catalyst for war.

"Power itself is neither right nor wrong. Even without seals and techniques, conflict would not cease," Hyuga Fuji said calmly. "In fact, you might not agree, but from my perspective, conflict and war are not without value. Without seals and techniques, this world might already have been destroyed."

Seals and techniques simplified the Ōtsutsuki clan's powers, allowing even those with chakra to use them. This was the foundation upon which the shinobi world could resist the Ōtsutsuki clan.

Without Indra's creations, forget about the trio of Momoshiki, Kinshiki, and Urashiki—even Isshiki could have dominated unchecked after the Sage of Six Paths' death.

Although the Sage had claimed that seals and techniques would have been discovered eventually, who could say when that would happen?

And without the authority of the Sage's lineage, could they have spread quickly enough to become mainstream?

Moreover, not everyone who discovered such knowledge would be willing to share it.

Seeing Indra and Ashura furrow their brows at the mention of "world destruction," Hyuga Fuji didn't elaborate further. Instead, he continued, "This world has birthed monsters that, without sealing techniques, are extremely dangerous to humanity. To humans, seals and techniques hold undeniable value."

"I never expected something that became a source of war to receive your praise," Indra said, momentarily stunned. Then a faint smile appeared on his face. Golden light began to emanate from his body, and at the same time, Ashura also started to glow as their forms gradually faded.

"It's nothing," Hyuga Fuji replied. "I simply believe that nothing is accomplished in a single step. Each generation has its role to play."

As the two began to vanish, Hyuga Fuji's voice deepened.

"The Sage of Six Paths spread chakra, laying the foundation for you. And you created seals and techniques, becoming the ancestor of ninjutsu."

"Perhaps in your time, you were seen as a symbol of chaos. But from the perspective of later generations, you brought about a transformation."

"To judge right and wrong solely through the lens of the present is shortsighted."

"...Thank you," Indra said softly just before disappearing completely. He suddenly tossed a small blue sphere of chakra to Hyuga Fuji.

"For listening to my long-winded musings. It's time to say goodbye. Consider this a small token of my gratitude, though for someone on the path to the Tenseigan like you, it might not hold much meaning."

After speaking, Indra turned to Ashura and smiled faintly. "I suppose I didn't lose as badly as I thought."

Ashura shrugged and sighed. "Neither of us succeeded. We were both lacking something, so…"

Can this endless conflict finally come to an end?

Though he left the thought unfinished, Indra understood what he meant. However, instead of responding directly, Indra offered an ambiguous comment:

"This memory may not survive."

As soon as the words left his mouth, both brothers disappeared entirely from the mental space.

Silently watching their departure, Hyuga Fuji turned his gaze to the chakra sphere Indra had given him. He raised an eyebrow slightly before putting it away.

"So, the Dragon Vein has been sealed."

---

"What just happened?"

Naruto looked utterly bewildered, staring at the white light enveloping both Sasuke and himself.

"The Dragon Vein has been sealed. We're being sent back early," Sasuke said calmly. "Ōtsutsuki Shinichi must have done it. Realizing he couldn't defeat us and fearing that Toneri might fall into Hyuga Fuji's hands, he likely decided to seal the Dragon Vein outright."

"Maybe Indra influenced him as well," Sasuke added.

"W-What do we do now?"

Mabui, who had been absent for some time, suddenly reappeared beside them. "Leave everything that needs to be handed over to Kakashi and the others. Our only option now is to leave."

She had intended to give the technological scrolls to Kakashi earlier, but the battle had forced her to address other matters first.

Seeing her sudden arrival, Sasuke tensed briefly but relaxed when he recognized her. "Is your mission complete?"

"The information is solid. That monk is in this desert. Hyuga Fuji likely hasn't discovered him at this point, so there's still a chance to change things."

Mabui nodded, her expression also easing.

"Good."

Sasuke gave a slight nod before turning his gaze to Kakashi and the others, who were struggling to stand. His brow furrowed. "If Hyuga Fuji returns, they won't be able to stop him…"

Mabui glanced at the departing figures of Sakumo Hatake and Shikuro Aburame as they recovered and left. She shook her head.

"We can only do what we can and leave the rest to fate. We shouldn't hope for too much when we're about to leave. Besides, it seems Hyuga Fuji has already obtained what he wanted. He likely won't bother with them anymore… at least, we can hope."

The atmosphere grew heavy.

After a few moments, Mabui broke the silence. "What about the second historical text?"

"It's here," Toneri, now fully conscious, said as he pulled out a scroll from Naruto's grasp and handed it to Mabui.

Taking the scroll, Mabui looked toward Kitsuchi, who had just descended from the sky. She handed it to him.

"Captain Kitsuchi, take this and leave immediately!"

"Wait…"

Kitsuchi hesitated, glancing at the injured and incapacitated shinobi around him.

What would happen to these temporary comrades if he left?

"Don't think about it. If Hyuga Fuji acts, even with you, there's no stopping him. It's better to ensure your own safety," Sasuke said coldly.

Hearing this, Kitsuchi twitched. "Got it."

These future comrades are… very blunt, he thought bitterly.

After a moment's hesitation, he took the scroll and flew off.

"Wait, I have one last question for you," Kakashi said, appearing beside Naruto in a flash. "What exactly is the Alaya Plan?"

"Kakashi-sensei, be careful—"

Naruto turned to Kakashi, wanting to offer a final warning, but before he could finish, he disappeared in a flash of white light.

"I guess I'll have to investigate it myself," Kakashi murmured as he watched them vanish, letting out a helpless sigh. He had finally come to believe their words.

The Dragon Vein truly allowed travel between the past and future.

If that was the case, Sasuke and Naruto were indeed his disciples.

But how would he face them in the future?

---

"Wait… what about me?"

The future Kitsuchi looked at the fading white light around him, his expression turning bewildered when he realized he hadn't returned to his era.

With the Dragon Vein sealed, he should have been sent back. Did this mean… he belonged to this era?

Beside him, Hyuga Fuji's gaze grew deep and contemplative.
