Chapter 300: Ten-Tails: I Totally Get It Now

Yagura's expression shifted rapidly—from confusion, to realization, to outright shock. In just a few seconds, his face became a storm of emotions. His slightly parted lips suggested he wanted to say something, but the sheer weight of the revelation choked the words in his throat.

Taking a deep breath, Yagura tried to calm himself. After a moment, he let out a bitter chuckle and shook his head.

"I should've known better than to ask. Learning all this only adds to my worries."

"You'll have to face it eventually. Knowing in advance gives you time to prepare."

Hyuga Fuji rose from his seat and said, "You seem to need time to process this. I'll take my leave."

He turned and headed for the door.

"The other nations will likely send condemnation letters and proposals for peace talks to stall us. Should we entertain them?"

The Shinobi United Nations has the authority and responsibility to mediate conflicts between nations. When disputes threaten international peace and security, they prioritize resolving them through negotiation, investigation, conciliation, arbitration, and other peaceful means.

Although the Land of Water isn't part of the Shinobi UN, the Land of Earth is, meaning the organization is bound to use this as leverage.

Hyuga Fuji paused briefly, shaking his head slightly.

"We're not part of the Alliance, so we're under no obligation to heed them. Besides, you've already prepared for this, haven't you? Militarily and diplomatically."

"The pressure of actually dealing with it is still significant," Yagura replied.

Despite his words, his expression remained composed. With someone as invincible as Hyuga Fuji on his side, he had little to fear.

Since Hyuga Fuji had given his take, there was no need to worry further. If other nations wanted to mediate, they could wait. The Land of Water would achieve its objectives first. If peace talks delayed their momentum and allowed enemy reinforcements to arrive, it would only complicate things.

Forcing himself to think about military strategy for a while, Yagura's thoughts eventually drifted back to what Hyuga Fuji had just revealed, leaving him with a headache.

The Ōtsutsuki, alien planets, the strongest clan in the universe…

These cold, harsh truths felt like swords hanging over their heads, ready to fall at any moment. The Mist Village had to prepare for the storm that could come at any time.

After leaving Yagura, Hyuga Fuji made his way to the edge of a basin outside the capital, scanning the surroundings.

The basin was encircled by towering mountains, forming a natural barrier that seemed to isolate it from the outside world.

A massive barrier enveloped the area, radiating a faint blue light. It resembled an invisible membrane, completely separating the basin from its surroundings.

Standing before the barrier, Hyuga Fuji extended a hand to touch its surface. Just then, he received a memory.

It was from his shadow clone, which had gone to Iwagakure. After searching, the clone discovered one of Isshiki's laboratories in the eastern part of the village. However, the lab had already been destroyed, and nothing remained.

Clearly, Bayakushi had deliberately destroyed the site, fearing it might leave traces that Fuji could use to track him down.

Taking a few seconds to review his clone's actions and confirm there were no oversights, Hyuga Fuji touched the barrier. It rippled slightly, then enveloped him and let him pass through.

"Has the Ten-Tails been behaving?"

Inside the barrier, Senju Tobirama and others turned toward Hyuga Fuji. Tobirama replied,

"Ever since you showed it those projections, it's been unusually well-behaved. Have you decided what to do with it?"

Hyuga Fuji glanced at the Ten-Tails with amusement, a faint smile on his lips.

"As long as it stays this obedient, I'll let it remain for now."

As soon as the Ten-Tails saw Hyuga Fuji, it immediately lowered its head in submission.

This was the terrifying being who had torn its previous master apart. He was just like the Sage of Six Paths and his brother, who had sealed Kaguya. It had to tread carefully if it wanted to survive.

The images Hyuga Fuji had shown it—of the Sage splitting the original Ten-Tails into nine smaller-tailed beasts—lingered in its mind.

The Ten-Tails understood perfectly now.

The lesson was clear: if it didn't behave, it would end up like its predecessor, Kaguya's Ten-Tails.

After Kaguya's sealing, her Ten-Tails had turned to the Sage of Six Paths, offering itself as his Jinchūriki. Yet it had still been split into nine fragments, its consciousness erased, and its body reduced to an empty husk.

The smaller Ten-Tails trembled internally. It didn't want to meet the same humiliating fate. That would be the ultimate disgrace for a Ten-Tails!

Seeing that the beast was still docile, Hyuga Fuji began considering its next destination.

The Ten-Tails was a biological weapon. Its current docility was only because its power was limited compared to the original Ten-Tails.

However, even in its weakened state, it wasn't to be underestimated. Looking at the power of the Gedo Statue when Nagato first summoned it, this Ten-Tails wasn't any weaker. Ordinary shinobi wouldn't stand a chance against it.

Its current submission was purely out of fear of Hyuga Fuji. It didn't mean the creature had truly reformed.

The ideal solution would be to handle it as Isshiki did: store it in a personal dimensional space for safekeeping.

But Hyuga Fuji's Kāma mark wasn't yet fully unlocked. He couldn't access his own dimensional space until it reached its second phase.

If someone else were to watch over the Ten-Tails, it would be too risky to let it move freely. The safest option would be to restrain it.

Recalling a certain fox that was still suffering in captivity, bound daily, Hyuga Fuji had an idea. He turned to Uzumaki Ashina.

"Currently, there are eight Uzumaki clan members capable of using Adamantine Sealing Chains, including those who've been revived, correct?"

"That's right," Ashina replied, glancing at the Ten-Tails. "You're suggesting my clan handle its containment, aren't you?"

The Ten-Tails was a higher-tier entity, but its strength didn't surpass that of the Nine-Tails. If Adamantine Sealing Chains could restrain the Nine-Tails, they'd work just as well—or better—on this beast.

Hyuga Fuji smiled.

"Against tailed beasts, sealing experts like you are the best choice. It won't take long."

"I understand." Ashina nodded firmly.

Hyuga Fuji had been the one to reunite the scattered Uzumaki clan members. This was a debt of gratitude they hadn't forgotten.

Entrusting the Ten-Tails—a crucial weapon—to them was a sign of trust. They wouldn't allow any mishaps.

Completely unaware of its impending fate, the Ten-Tails remained lying low, its massive eyes fixed hopefully on Hyuga Fuji.

Surely, being so obedient would earn it a reward, right? Maybe some food?

The humans around it smelled delicious, radiating strong chakra. Consuming them would be far more satisfying than the scraps Isshiki had tossed its way.

More importantly, if it behaved, perhaps it would soon fulfill its destiny—being planted as a God Tree.

That was its purpose, its reason for existing.

It had waited a thousand years already. Surely, the time was near.
