I'm Not Looking!

Alex still had some time before the goods delivery was scheduled to take place. The mission, as it turned out, was for a significant shipment, and the organisers had started recruiting people a full month in advance. That left him with time to kill before the actual operation.

For now, Selena was in no rush to meet Nicholas again. The fire and determination she'd carried after their previous encounter had waned, the weight of exhaustion and the lingering fear had a big effect on her. She could not get her mind off of it.

Their last meeting had shaken her, leaving her nerves raw and her resolve unsteady. Though she knew she would eventually have to make the journey north, she wasn't eager to face him just yet.

"I'll leave in a few days," she muttered to herself, tapping her fingers against the balcony railing. "There's no harm in resting a little before then."
