An Ally

The streets bustled with life as Selena, Alex, and Rylus made their way toward the location she had chosen. It was an exciting moment for her—finally, after all the planning, she would be seeing the lot where she intended to build her casino.

She had been meticulous in choosing the location. It had to be in a place where foot traffic was high, where people from all walks of life could pass through—merchants, nobles, and even travellers from the Empire. Her so-called "useless" friends had come through after all, scouting out a place that checked all her requirements.

The journey to the lot, however, was proving to be more eventful than she had anticipated.
