Ch 85: You all have no faith - Part 2

Mary Ann kept her composure, standing tall even as the accusations grew louder. But Rui clenched her fists, her anger barely contained. "You dare blame us?" she snapped, her voice cutting through the crowd like a blade. "When all we've done is try to save this city from itself? You—"

Before Rui could escalate further, Maric stepped forward, his young face calm and serious. "Enough," he said softly but firmly, drawing all eyes to him. He knelt beside a frail, elderly woman seated by the roadside. Her skin was pale, her breaths labored. Without hesitation, Maric placed his hands on her shoulders, and a soft, golden light emanated from his palms.

The crowd watched in stunned silence as the woman gasped, her color returning and her breathing steadying. She sat up straighter, her eyes wide with disbelief. "I... I feel better," she whispered, touching her chest.

The murmurs in the crowd shifted, doubt giving way to astonishment. "Is that divine power?" someone asked.
