Ch 104: Underhanded Tactics - Part 1

The grand hall of the Chashire estate was adorned with glistening chandeliers, opulent drapery, and a long dining table laden with an extravagant feast. 

It was clear the nobles of Chashire had spared no expense in hosting the dinner party, but their disdain for Mary Ann and her company simmered beneath the polished surface. Their sharp glances and forced smiles betrayed their true feelings.

Mary Ann entered the hall with her head held high, exuding confidence and grace. Fenrir followed closely in his wheelchair, his calm and composed demeanor unshaken by the disdainful stares cast his way. 

Rui and Maric flanked them, both wearing expressions of quiet defiance, though Rui's irritation was much harder to suppress.

The nobles greeted Mary Ann with perfunctory politeness, their words dripping with insincerity. "Ah, Lady Mary Ann," one of the nobles said with a tight-lipped smile. "What an honor it is to host you this evening.
