ARIANA'S POV.
My heart thudded in my chest. His enchantment wasn't working? He couldn't successfully compel the pretty prince seated before us on his diamond throne?
The air suddenly felt chill, with the realization that things may go south.
"Well, keep them. After dinner, bring them to me, since I'll play with them a bit." The prince said, and a couple of guards came to stand behind us, urging us to move.
As we did, they guided us past corridors, and corners, to a little room that seemed more like a closet. We were pushed in there, with only a few candles for light.
"What just happened?" Miguel asked.
"I didn't make it strong enough, but… even though… The amount of compelling force I use has never mattered. Everyone always falls for it. It probably means he has an ability to resist…" Sunny was saying, like he was talking to himself, trying to see the answers to his problems in the air.
