It was just a sip

Cass would be the first to admit it.

He was a sucker for a good park.

How the man found out about it, was a completely different story, if he even knew it. Cass had always found peace in nature. It was why it hurt so much when Sam had restricted his movements again after he had tasted the freedom of the gardens around the mansion.

This? Outside, where he could hear the birdsong, the sounds of people moving about their everyday life, and the soft whisper of violin music in the distance? He would never admit it to Lord Vespertine, but it was a good way to earn brownie points with him.

He was never going to admit it to him though.

"How is your food?" Lord Vespertine asked and Cass blinked. He'd been lost in thought, staring at the fountain and listening to a couple have a not so quiet argument nearby.

"Oh. It's…good." Cass told him and Lord Vespertine chuckled.
