The instructor's voice boomed across the arena, filled with excitement.
"And there he goes! Enu is making a break for it! Oscar and En are in pursuit, but—oh! Hanz and Annis have stepped in to block them!"
Enu didn't look back. His boots pounded against the cracked pavement as he zigzagged through debris, dodging fallen street signs and abandoned vehicles. His grip tightened around the blue flag.
Behind him, Oscar clicked his tongue in irritation. "Damn it. We can't let him escape with that flag."
En lunged forward, his enhanced speed making him blur through the battlefield. He was fast—too fast. He was closing in.
Hanz moved first, intercepting En's path with a powerful swing of his sword.
En barely dodged, twisting mid-air as Hanz's blade sliced through the dust.
Meanwhile, Annis cracked her whip against the ground, sending sparks flying. She didn't attack—she just made it look like she was about to.
Oscar immediately reacted, raising his hands. The ground rumbled, and a clay doll burst forth, towering over them.
"Hah! And Oscar wastes no time! He's deploying his clay warriors! Will Hanz and Annis be able to hold out?!" the instructor narrated.
The moment Enu disappeared from sight, Hanz and Annis shifted their stances, subtly adjusting their grips on their weapons.
"Oscar and En are still trying to chase down Enu, but his teammates are keeping them occupied! Will they fight it out, or is there another plan at play?" the instructor narrated.
Below, Hanz tightened his hold on his sword, his body slightly lowering as if preparing for a powerful strike. Beside him, Annis did the same, raising her whip with a calculated flick.
En and Oscar instinctively braced themselves.
"They're going to attack—" Oscar started, but before he could finish, Hanz and Annis did the unexpected.
They turned and bolted.
Hanz and Annis didn't attack.
Instead, they glanced at each other… and bolted in the opposite direction.
"Wait—what?!" the instructor exclaimed. "They're retreating! Was this a feint all along?!"
Oscar's eyes widened. He looked past them—but Enu was already gone.
Kieran burst out laughing. "HA! They really just ran for it! Damn, that's dirty!"
Visconti nodded approvingly. "That was clever. They didn't waste energy fighting a battle they didn't need to win."
Back on the battlefield, Oscar clenched his fists. "Tch. They got us."
Ayun sighed. "We should have known. That was all just a bluff."
On the battlefield, Oscar gritted his teeth, immediately summoning two small clay dolls and sending them in pursuit.
En was already moving. "I'll chase."
But Ayun held up a hand, shaking her head. "No. We don't know where the other scouts are. It could be a setup."
Oscar clicked his tongue, reluctantly calling back his clay dolls.
"And Oscar's team chooses not to pursue! Looks like Enu's team gets away with a solid play—how will this affect the final score?"
From a hidden alleyway, Enu smirked, still gripping the blue flag.
"Phase one, successful."
The instructor's voice carried across the battlefield.
"And just like that, Hanz and Annis are out of sight! But where is Enu? Let's listen in—"
Hanz pressed a hand to his earpiece, his breathing steady. "Blackbird, what's your location? Over."
A slight crackle of static followed before Enu's voice came through, calm and composed.
"Nest secured. Currently inside an abandoned structure—northeast quadrant, second level. No hostiles in sight. Over."
Hanz smirked. "Copy that. We're en route. ETA, two minutes."
Annis, running beside him, tilted her head. "You just love talking like a secret agent, don't you?"
Hanz chuckled. "Gotta keep the atmosphere, right?"
The instructor laughed at the exchange.
"Looks like Enu has successfully secured a flag, taking refuge in an abandoned building! But will he be able to hold his position, or will Oscar's team catch up? The tension is rising!"
Meanwhile, inside the building, Enu crouched low, scanning the area through his observer drone.
The cracked windows provided a good vantage point.
He could see Oscar's team regrouping, their movements careful and calculated.
"They're cautious now," Enu muttered under his breath. "Good. That means they're second-guessing themselves."
He tapped his earpiece again. "Hound, Viper—when you get here, stay low. No unnecessary movement."
Annis scoffed through the line. "You don't have to tell me twice."
From the stands, Kieran leaned forward, eyes bright with excitement. "Damn, this is like watching an action movie."
Elijah huffed a laugh. "Yeah, but don't forget—the movie's still playing. Anything can happen."
Visconti's gaze flickered toward Oscar's team on the screen. "Enu's plan is working so far, but if Oscar plays his cards right, he could still turn the tables."
"And now, Hanz and Annis have finally regrouped with Enu! But what's this? It looks like Enu has been busy planning something while they were away!"
Inside the abandoned building, Annis and Hanz caught their breath as they glanced at the floor.
A crude but detailed map of the apocalyptic battlefield was drawn with chalk on the cracked concrete.
There were X marks scattered across different locations and circled areas drawn with precision.
Enu was still focused on his observer, his gaze locked onto the live feed from the drone hovering outside.
Hanz raised an eyebrow. "What are we looking at?"
Enu finally turned to them and pointed at the circled areas. "These are where Oscar's clay dolls are positioned. We need to avoid these routes unless we want a fight we're not ready for."
Annis crouched down, studying the map. "And the Xs?"
"Those are possible flag locations," Enu explained. "Some of them might already be taken, but it gives us a general idea of where to focus."
The instructor's voice carried through the speakers.
"A brilliant strategy! Enu has been mapping out enemy positions and potential objectives! This level of preparation might just give them an edge!"
Hanz whistled, impressed. "So what's the plan?"
Enu's expression grew serious. "Annis, your role is vital in this. You need to scout the remaining areas. Your ability is suited for this task, so you'll be our eyes."
Annis cracked her knuckles. "Leave it to me."
The instructor chimed in again.
"Oh? It seems Annis has a crucial role in this next phase! But what exactly is her ability? The audience is left guessing for now!"
Kieran leaned forward in his seat, grinning. "Man, I hate not knowing! What's her ability already?"
Elijah smirked. "Guess you'll have to wait and see."
Visconti nodded thoughtfully. "If Enu is putting this much emphasis on her scouting, then her ability must be perfect for recon. This could be a turning point."
