Ch. 104 - The Great War! [41]

As quickly as possible, Michael and the four Great Seraphs made their move, instantly arriving beside God.

"Relax. Something like this won't hurt me." The old man smiled and assured then, holding Lucifer's Evil Light covered fist with ease.

"What?!" Lucifer's already paled face turned paler after seeing God block his fist with ease.

"Lucifer…" God shifted his attention back to his second son, ignoring the weird looks that the Four Great Seraphs were giving him.

"You….coward!" Lucifer growled angrily and spat, covering his other hand with the same Evil Light and tried to punch him with it.

Bam!

Once again, it was blocked by God's other hand.

"Your defeat…is inevitable son." His face softened a bit and he muttered these words as if it were a fact.

"Don't call me your son!" Lucifer looked down on the ground and yelled in anger.

"No. You are my son and will always be." God shook his head and refuted, striding forward to hug Lucifer.

"I have many regrets when it comes to you, Samael." Hearing his words, Lucifer thought had a change of heart and was planning to spare him.

Even Michael also thought so and was about to persuade his father about the implications of doing so but the old man continued.

"But we have to end things here." With that being said, God tightened his embrace and slowly released a small surge of his Holy Power.

"No…" Lucifer's eyes widened in surprise not because he would be killed by his own father's hands, but due to not feeling anything despite knowing he's fading away.

Michael and the rest watches as Lucifer slowly turned into small motes of golden light while bearing a soft and relived expression.

"I'm sorry, son." God said for the last time.

"….Thank you….father." For the first time since he became a devil, Lucifer finally bore no hatred or arrogance on his face, instead, his face shows as if a huge burden was released from him.

With one finally glance towards his brother Michael, Lucifer's entire body finally turned into light that faded away in time.

Michael clenched his fists after seeing this.

Despite it all, God still showed mercy to Lucifer, letting him pass away in peace instead of pain.

'No matter what bad deeds a man's child had done. A father is still a father and they won't let their children suffer.' Chamber muttered to himself as he watches this touching scene.

His mind immediately went to Raviel's relieved face from his memories.

'Raviel….your grandfather avenged you.' He muttered to himself, slightly hoping that Raviel heard him, even though his soul has already vanished.

"Father that…." Michael's eyes went down and saw a small orb of dark light floating above God's palm.

"It's time to give this back to whom it rightfully belongs to." God cryptically answered while standing up and approaching Chamber.

"I believe this belongs to you, my son." Crouching, God slowly pushed the glowing orb into Chamber's chest, not even letting him ask what it was.

"It is something that Lucifer has stolen from you. Or more specifically, from Raviel." God explained, giving Chamber a gist of what it was.

However, Chamber failed to register any of God's words as the said man was no longer on the outside world.

***

"What the?" My eyes widened in surprise. Taking in the familiar surroundings.

It was the same white space I was in during my death. Or physical death.

"Why am I here? Did I die again?!" I slowly panicked. The last time I remember was God pushing something weird inside my chest when I was just minding my own damn business.

Now, one blink of my eyes and I'm back to this place.

"Seriously. What did that old man give me all of the sudden?" I couldn't help but sigh while scratching the top of my head.

Step

Step

Step

Just as I took in the silent surroundings, it was suddenly interrupted by the sound of footsteps echoing from my behind.

I immediately turned around as fast as I could and what stood before me made me shake.

"Raviel?"

***

Back in the human world, although the Underworld was invaded by Heaven and got their Satans slain in battle, the war still rages on and the Devils are gaining an advantage.

"How long can you still hold on?" Diorno breathed heavily while asking the sorcerer beside him.

"Not much. I'm almost exhausted." Balthazar replied in the same manner.

After dealing with the devils that attacked a random village, Balthazar wasted no time transferring himself to another battlefield in hopes of helping finish the war immediately.

Who knew they would have trouble fighting against one man.

Standing before them was a silver-haired man with a small goatee, wearing a very regal armored attire while looking down on them arrogantly.

"Heh. When I heard how two humans are causing trouble to the devils, I thought you two will be something else. Too bad you're no different from the rest of your kind." Rizevim Lucifer, son of the Lucifer himself sneered arrogantly before launching two orbs with destructive properties, no less weaker than the Destruction trait of the Bael clan.

Balthazar immediately made his move by conjuring a portal to swallow the orbs however, as he had already made this move before, Rizevim were able to predict it and control the orb's trajectory perfectly, evading the portal.

"How troublesome." Balthazar muttered to himself and simply manipulated the portal by letting it outmaneuver the orbs to successfully swallow them this time.

"Oh? So you can also manipulate those portals? How fascinating." Rizevim scratched his small goatee with an interested expression on his face.

"Unfortunately for you, your previous opponents has left you battered and exhausted. I wonder how long you can keep up." While saying this, Rizevim flew downwards and hurled a punch towards Balthazar, who blocked it with his Tao Mandalas.

Bam!

Crack!

However, while the Tao Mandalas served as a formidable defensive spell, it was no match against's an Ultimate class devil's strength.

The moment Rizevim's fist made contact with the surface of the barrier, it didn't take long for it to crack and get smashed into pieces.

Thankfully, it gave Balthazar enough time to dodge out of the way, letting Rizevim's fist connect with the ground instead.

Boom!

Dirts and rubbles flew outwards due to Rizevim's formidable strength, a huge crater has formed on the ground.

'If I were hit with that. I would've been dead by now.' Balthazar swallowed his saliva and muttered to himself with a bitter expression.

"Don't forget about me!" Behind Rizevim, Diorno suddenly showed up, coating his fist with his Holy Energy before striking down towards the silver-haired devil.

"Too slow!" The latter simply grinned in delight as he shifted his body sidewards to dodge the punch before delivering a fast kick to Diorno's body.

Due to the strength gap, Diorno was unable to react in time and flew backward with a sonic boom.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

It took at least five structures to be smashed by his body before stopping Diorno's momentum.

"Teacher!" Nearby, Diorno's student, Santo, noticed what happened and he quickly finished his current fight with a High-class devil by blasting him with an airwave.

Rushing quickly to Diorno's side, Santo panicked after seeing that the man's breathing is getting weaker.

"No! No! No!" Santo cried out as he tries to salvage the situation. However as his knowledge was lacking when it comes to healing, he was unable to do anything.

"Kid! Kid, snap out of it!" Suddenly, a voice snapped him back to reality.

"I'll take care of Diorno. You think you can handle that guy for a while?" It was Balthazar who then pointed his finger towards Rizevim.

As much as Balthazar hates asking a child out of all the people, he knew Santo's capabilities and he might be able to buy some time for him.

"….Don't worry. I'll kill him for hurting teacher!" With his clenched fists, Santo's glowing eyes glared directly towards Rizevim's.

"If you can…" Balthazar muttered to himself. Though he didn't say it out loud as he doesn't want to discourage the young boy.

"Hoh? And who are you supposed to be?" Rizevim raised an eyebrow and said with a slightly bored expression.

"The one who's going to kill you!" With a roar, he pushed his arms forward, bringing forth two small cyclones from his palms which he hurled towards Rizevim.

"Huh?" Rizevim, not expecting the outcome, quickly unfurled his wings to fly in the air, watching as the two small cyclones that was initially small turned larger after gaining considerable distance.

"Interesting. How could a human boy have such power?" He muttered to himself. His previous bored expression turning into interest.

"You boy. What's your name?" He pointed at Santos on the ground and asked.

"I don't need to tell a filthy devil my name!" He roared and made a small gesture with his hands.

Rizevim's senses immediately alerted him of the change in the air in his surroundings.

'Does he control air? Fascinating.' Rizevim's mind immediately went to work, forming plans to counter the boy's air manipulation ability.

Unbeknownst to the son of Lucifer, Santos can control not just the wind.

'I need to know his distance limit first. How far can he control the air?' With this question in mind, Rizevim decided to test to himself.

However, before he could do so, he received a call from one of his servants back in Lucifaad.

Annoyed, Rizevim still answered it.

'If this is not as important as the war, then consider yourself dead.'

[Hah!~ Hah!~ Master Rizevim! Lord Lucifer, your father, is dead! Heaven has invaded us and barred the entire city so we won't be able to call outside. I had to run and get out of the city just to connect to you!]

As soon as those words were dropped, Rizevim's body grew cold as his eyes widened in shock.

"Father….is dead?"
