52. Sixty-Nine

Even my breathing stopped when that electrifying sensation coursed through my being, grinding my movements to an abrupt halt.

The entire world seemed to fall to a standstill, even if that was not the case. Debris still rained down on us, after all.

My whole body trembled, and so did the others. Not even Eiko was spared from this experience. None of us could immediately withstand the pressure of a creature of that status.

It didn't take me long to understand that it only needed a bit more to cross into the Sky Realm—where its power would experience an immense leap, and it could evolve into a greater creature.

It took everything In me to regain my natural ability to breathe, but the same could not be said for the others who were utterly paralyzed by terror echoing from the depths of their souls.

A voice reached our ears with no more intensity than a whisper. "Run," it said.
