A voice beyond the wings

Igris POV

"—up!"

"—on!"

A voice seemed to echo throughout my head dully, but where am I?

My body just floated in a pit of darkness.

"—ugh!" the voice muttered echoly.

My eyes jolted open from a sudden feeling of something ramming against my stomach like a battering ram, and to my surprise, it was who had jumped on my stomach.

Alice.

"That's not a polite way to wake up a guest." I said grimacing, rubbing my aching stomach.

"Well, maybe if It didn't take more than hundreds of tries to wake you up, then it wouldn't have happened." The girl that seemed to be towering over me shot back.

"Well if you would be so kind as to get off of me!" I said before tackling her over as a surprised shriek escaped her, as she frantically tried to escape my grasp I heard the door creek open before a familiar voice spoke.

"You guys seem lively," The voice chuckled.

I turned around seeing long silverish-white hair that ran beautifully along her waist. I would have thought her blue eyes were staring daggers at me if I didn't know her any better.

Taking a good look at her face she had slight dark bags that formed underneath her eyes, had she not gotten any sleep last night? I thought to myself since this was the first time I've seen her look tired.

During my gaze Alice had managed to escape and run to her side, "Stella, are you alright?" I questioned, slightly concerned, "Oh, yes. I'm fine, just a little tired that's all, now come on. You and Alice will get even more time to bond like now." Stella's remark caused Alice's face to slightly flush as she ran off, "There she goes now hurry and wash up."

I gave her a simple nod before finally getting up.

After taking a shower—It was a little difficult to find the bathrooms—I made my way down to the kitchen, or atleast I tried but ended up getting lost again.

"Ugh, not again." I grumbled under my breath, which hall was it? Two left turns or right turns… I don't remember. I feel like I'll end up in an endless circle.

I'm not sure what it is, but something feels different. It's like my body feels lighter than usual. Not in the sense of feeling weak.

But that dream.

My mind trailed off. What was it that happened to me in that pit? My memory seemed foggy about this particular part of that "trial," the only part being vivid enough for me to remember was after I fell. When I was falling through that endless pit of darkness, my surroundings soon after were shrouded with blinding light, and wings formed from nothingness as my body was surrounded by its warmth.

"Boy, soon alot will change and since this is my fault let me explain." A voice beyond the wings shot out, "It wasn't my intention to have this happen, but the moiras have become aware of my—though they haven't figured out yet—potential influence on this world. And since that is happening I'm afraid I will have to stop you from having those dreams, at least for now. I know you have no clue what I'm saying, but you need to become strong enough so one day I can tell you. One day… I can tell you the tru—" I sound of static resounded from the wings, as the space inside it began to shiver as I could see the very space around me began to tear apart.

"I've run out of time, next time I will speak may be the last. If there is a next time, once you've become strong enough you will have your first real dream. Some of your questions will be answered. You've had my blessing child. Become strong, the balance of this world may begin to shift in ways that people may deem impossible but you must guide them. Goodbye." Were the voices' last words before I was suddenly back in the pit of darkness, until I was awakened by Alice.

That voice, she sounded familiar, I've gotten hit by a lot from a lack of a better word "déjà vu." The singing that sounded like i've heard before and now that voice, this could all just be a false memory from a prior dream i've forgotten or is it something deeper.

"Come on! Where have you been?" I heard Alice as she cried out marching towards me while I was just idly standing in the middle of the hallway, "Come on just follow me."

I didn't say anything in response but followed since my mind was filled with thoughts about that voice, what did all of that mean, and what are the "moiras" she spoke about? This is all confusing, but one thing she emphasized on was me becoming stronger because things are going to change.

"—it" I heard a voice into play breaking my line of thought.

"Igris sit." My father motioned to the balcony I had seen when first coming here, my gaze fell on Alice who was sitting a few feet from where my father had told me to sit. I walked out stretching my arms and legs.

Then it caught my eye. The beautiful sunrise sky tinted with oranges, pinks, and reds beautifully splashed on the sky as if it were a painting; the chirps from the nearby forest filled the area; clouds drifted about the sky as birds swayed along with the wind's chill breeze, "Nice morning, isn't it?" My father asked while taking a big deep breath, "Yeah, it is." I replied in a half-utter, still gazing at the sky.

I sat down on the floor criss-cross-applesauce, "so what are we doing here?" I asked, leaning back on my arms, "They're here." My father spoke to no one in particular.

Turning to see who he was talking about I saw the Landhearts, Mother, Stella, and a face that I hadn't seen in awhile. Our eyes met as she gave me a warm smile before her gaze shifted back to our father.
