From the Dead Oceans, Kumamoto Setsune reawakens after thirty hundred years. Without a home, with who knows how much time left, and with her life the target of many an Aeternum, Disaster Beast, and more, she travels towards her old home. In the Great City of Rem, she seeks to find something for herself.
Wait, I'm allowed to review my own work. Wow...seriously. I love the work I've been doing on it. Its recent chapters have ben quite fantastic especially. However, I have some notes: - The intro chapters are fine, but there's not enough room for the story to breath. We immediately jump into the action after three chapters. I know pacing is hard, but that could certainly use some work. - Because of this, Setsune isn't as well characterized as she could be, and the lore isn't as well established as it could be. - Some of the chapters seem a lot more aimless or thrown together, like the author wasn't sure what to do and couldn't quite think to do something else. Likely due to time constraints, but it could've gone better Otherwise though, the pacing is great. Its clearly taking a slow approach, which can be really annoying, but that gives the story and characters time to cook. This is helpful for a much more abstract or complicated world. It would be nice to explain the world a lot more, but taking the time to ease the reader into the story and characters is a fine technique, albeit one that's not going to be for everyone. -One more note, the Lynception arc could've used a bit more time, as could her initial roadtrip - the roadtrip felt rather aimless, and Amara could've been given more Scrooge-esc moments before being visited by the Ghost of Lyn past as I may.
