Elena shrugged dramatically, extending her hand toward Kael. "Take me back to the palace," she demanded, her tone dripping with entitlement.

Kael rolled his eyes but took her hand anyway, helping her back into the carriage with all the enthusiasm of someone being dragged to their own execution. I watched as she climbed in, her complaints echoing even after the door shut. The carriage rolled away, and for a moment, I stood there in the awkward silence left behind.

Lucius cleared his throat. "Alright, back to work."

I turned to him, groaning. "You're relentless, you know that?"

He smirked, holding up the book again. "If you don't want to keep inhaling lake water, you'll focus."

I sighed and followed him back to the edge of Lake Gayank. This was going to be a long day.
