Hearing his words, Luciana felt as if pins were pricking her back instead of his hands that were rubbing and patting her back gently.
"To—Tonight?" She stammered, her eyes widening.
"Yes, wife, I've been patient enough, and I think you're ready now," he said calmly with an understanding smile on his face as if he had not noticed the frightened expression on her face.
"I…I don't think I'm ready," she stuttered and added after a beat, "You promised you'd give me time."
"I said yes; I didn't promise I'd wait; I never said it would be on your terms. And I have given you enough time, haven't I?" He asked.
Luciana gulped seeing his intense gaze that scanned her as if she were a prey and he, a tiger on the hunt, finally sighting its prey. It was true; he never promised he would wait, and here she was thinking she had time.
