Chapter 141: Yunfeng Can't Be the Only Good Guy!

Despite this, Zhu Zhuqing noticed that Dai Mubai's face was deathly pale, and his mental state was clearly unstable. Her disdain for him grew even stronger.

Tang San was doing better—after all, he had lived two lifetimes and spent nearly forty years across two worlds, making his willpower much more resolute. Apart from him, the oldest among them was Dai Mubai, who was only fifteen.

Although Dai Mubai was undoubtedly strong and decisive in battle, he was still just a teenager. This was his first time killing someone.

Instantly executing seven people—the gushing blood, the bulging eyes, and the twisted expressions of the dying—all of it was now seared into the minds of the Shrek team. It was a sensation unlike anything they had ever experienced before.

"Tang San… did we… really kill them?" Oscar asked with difficulty.

Tang San nodded. "Yes, we did. But they were cruel murderers themselves. They deserved to die."

Ning Rongrong, her face pale, struggled to speak. "But they were still living, breathing people. Just a moment ago, they were full of malice, and in the next, they were nothing but corpses. I… ugh—"

"We killed them. We really killed them." Oscar clutched his chest, breathing heavily.

"As soul masters, killing is something you will all have to face eventually," Yunfeng said as he approached, his expression calm. His indifferent tone, however, made his words seem out of place.

"Every successful and powerful soul master walks a path paved with their enemies' blood. Have you never taken a life before? If not, then where do you think your spirit rings come from?

"Soul beasts are also living beings. From a purely existential perspective, they are no different from humans. Yet, when you hunt them, why don't you feel this same sense of guilt?

"This is a hurdle no one can help you overcome. The only way through it is by sheer willpower. If you feel sick, then throw up. Once you do it enough, you'll get used to it.

"But if you don't want to draw attention to yourselves, put your masks on and leave this place with us."

Hearing Yunfeng's words, even Yu Xiaogang and the others nodded in agreement. It was easier for the team to accept such advice from a peer rather than an elder.

By the time the Shrek group returned to the hotel, everyone was utterly exhausted—even more so than after their grueling training sessions. It wasn't their bodies that were tired, but their spirits.

The final gaze of Meng Li before his death haunted them, lingering in their minds.

As Ning Rongrong had pointed out, regardless of their actions being justified, they had still taken lives—lives that had once been vibrant and full of intent.

Yu Xiaogang, Flender, and the teachers gathered in their rooms.

Flender, however, was in a particularly good mood. The final payout, which had reached fourteen-to-one odds, had brought in a massive fortune for everyone involved.

He had already collected the money.

At least six or seven different factions—including the Spirit Arena itself—had extended invitations to the Shrek Seven Devils after the match, but he had refused them all.

However, Flender's good mood soured when he saw Yunfeng heading to collect his winnings.

After all, Yunfeng had placed a **100,000 gold soul coin** bet!

But there was nothing Flender could do about it now.

Compared to financial concerns, the rest of the Spirit Arena was reacting differently to the battle. Many considered the death of the Fiend Team to be a cause for celebration.

Some even speculated that it had been a deliberate setup—a revenge ploy by other teams that had lost members to the Fiend Team.

The Zhuge Divine Crossbow was undoubtedly powerful, but it had clear weaknesses.

As Yu Xiaogang had explained before, the crossbow could penetrate any second-ring defense ability, but it had little effect on **third-ring or higher** defense techniques.

Moreover, its effectiveness dropped significantly beyond **fifty meters**, making it far inferior to a standard bow in ranged combat.

The crossbow's greatest strength was **surprise**. Without that advantage, it was merely a strong but limited weapon.

"Master, did you plan this from the start? Is that why you specifically picked such a notorious opponent?" Zhao Wuji asked as he split his winnings with Flender.

Yu Xiaogang nodded. "Yes. This was another trial for them—a form of training. Tell me, which soul master has never killed before?

"I can almost guarantee that any soul master above **rank 50** has taken multiple lives—perhaps many more.

"As I said before, this was something they would have to experience eventually. By going through it while we are here to guide them, it will ultimately be better for them.

"The next time they encounter such a situation, they will at least have some psychological preparation."

Zhao Wuji sighed. "But they're still so young. Won't this be too much for them?"

Yu Xiaogang chuckled. "These kids are smart. They won't dwell on it too much.

"Flender, if you're done counting your money, why don't you go comfort them? I've done my part as the 'bad guy.' You can't let Yunfeng be the **only** good guy here."

Flender laughed. "I already have a great image in their minds. Naturally, I should be the one to play the good guy."

"Don't worry, Wuji," Flender added. "I completely support Xiaogang's decision.

"When I killed for the first time, I threw up so much I thought my stomach would turn inside out.

"Looking back now, it seems kind of funny. Killing is a part of life as a soul master. Experiencing it earlier rather than later is for their own good. I'll go talk to them."

Zhao Wuji stared at Flender with a strange expression, wondering if his old friend had finally lost it.

**Wasn't Yu Xiaogang the one who orchestrated everything?**

Yet somehow, Flender was now acting as if all the blame was on him.

Still, Zhao Wuji decided to let it go. With the amount of money they had just made, there was no need to spoil the mood.

Yu Xiaogang and Flender were practically **two sides of the same coin**.

Pointing it out would only be unnecessary trouble.

For the Shrek group, however, it was a sleepless night.

Yunfeng, in particular, spent a long time comforting the three girls.

By early morning, before the sun had even risen, the group quietly **left Silvis City** and resumed their journey toward **Heaven Dou Empire's capital**.

Their faces were still pale—especially Oscar, Ma Hongjun, and Ning Rongrong, who had suffered the worst.

One night was **far from enough** to recover.

But with Yunfeng's guidance, they had at least begun to **come to terms with it**.
