??? (Chapter 0.2)

It was the next day when I remembered the encounter I had with that girl. After all, who was she? She did not seem like a girl from around here, since she seemed not to recognize Valdosca, who I must admit, is quite well-known in my father's land. I addition, the way she almost as if she had no fear revealed that she may have a connection with those that have more power. However, the most interesting part was that she seemed not to know who I was, or even heard of me before. This is largely due to how I am really famous all over the kingdom and beyond, due to well, my expertise in magic control, skill, brains, power, and looks. Everyone in the kingdom and the surrounding areas would've heard about me at least once, not to brag.

So I rose from my very comfy bed, which was made with the finest materials (I did not know what it was made of, as I never bothered to ask) and headed downstairs for breakfast. The mansion was humongous, with hallways containing countless doors that each lead to a room that is used for something. I greeted the maids and butlers that I passed, since I just liked to greet familiar faces.

I soon found myself in front of the dining room after walking from some time due to the fact that since the mansion was so large you had to actually work for your food. As I entered, I noticed that my father was eating breakfast, which I found was suprising because it was 12 in the afternoon (I know, it's a little late for breakfast).

As I approached the dining table, I saw that my father was reading the news. However when I took a peek, I noticed that the title seemed familiar for some reason. It read, "Multiple Deaths Occured in the Kingdom of Osurew: Corspes Found in Brutal Conditions". I thought back to my previous life, where I remembered how I was up late reading the news about a whole bunch of people being murdered near my place. Ahh, how I remember those days, high school and all. Wow, now that I think back, I hide behind a mask most of the time…oh well those were the old days. What matters is what happens now.

Anyways, as I approached, my father noticed me and greeted me with a "good morning" to me. I, of course, respectfully replied with a "good morning" as well.

When I sat down, my father started to spark a conversation. "How is your studies holding up?" he asked.

"It's going well father. I am currently at the top of my class and do not plan on losing that anytime soon," I replied with a smile. Now, I first had the assumption that studying all these fantasy world terms world terms would be exciting, however let me lend you on a secret; it is not fun or entertaining in any way, shape, or form. In fact, it is literally just like normal studying except it was not Algebra or English, but instead magic spells and poems. Using magic spells is not as easy as it looks, let me tell you. It is just like an aim trainer; you have to be VERY precise at gathering the right amount and releasing your mana. Let me also not get started at aiming the damn thing as well. I do not know how the characters in manga and novels make it look so easy, however it is not. The only reason I'm studying my guts out for this crap is because boredom can do many things to a man, as there is no video games in this damn world.

Holy crap, that's a lot of yap. Continuing on, I took a seat beside my father and the butler, Pepey (poor him, his mother and father must've been terrible to name such a wonderful man like him that), brought my food, which was some bacon and eggs with ham and potatoes and a glass of milk, cause why not. As I was munching on my food, I asked my father, "So father, is there anything interesting happening in the newspaper?".

My father answered, "Nothing much on the news other than the fact that a couple of people that were missing got found brutally murdered in a kingdom far from here. In fact, I quite surprised that a kingdom from that far away made it to the papers here."

"May I take a look at it?" I asked. I was curious on what it contained.

"Of course, here you go," my father said as he passed the paper.

I started to read through the paper and learned that the people who died were high officials and trusted members of the king over there. I even read that a couple of people related to those that got killed moved to other kingdoms as they were afraid that they were next. "Huh, that's interesting," I thought. Suddenly, my mind wandered off to the girl I met the other day. Was she related to one of the officials there? I mean, it was highly likely as I have never heard of this kingdom before, which would mean that they would not have known about me due to the fact that I knew most of the kingdoms here. As I was finishing up my food, I noticed something was feeling awfully wrong. Maybe it was just me, however I got shivers for absolutely no reason.

Just as I was about to leave the dining room after finishing my breakfast, I took one last look around the place, just to see if there was anything unusual. There wasn't, so I said goodbye to my father and left my dishes in the sink at the kitchen, against the butler's insistence. Afterwards, I headed outside to visit the girl from yesterday.

The guards at the gate saw me approaching and greet me with a good morning, so I replied back with one as well and we chit chatted for a bit. After the conversation, I headed out of the property and onto the pathway leading to the village. As I was walking, I reached the woods and entered, as this was a shortcut to the village. I thought I heard something behind me, so I instinctively looked around, where I was met with nothing but air. I thought this was weird, as I swore that I heard something. I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not realize the shiny, black blade pierced through my back and out through my heart.
