On the fourth day, it was the unluckiest day Vodzy had ever experienced. He just slept and lay in the hospital all day, without doing anything. All he did was eat, watch TV, or read novels and comics belonging to Samudra.
Early in the morning, around 4 AM, he had to go back to the hill because he had to help his friends pack up and clean up from the camping activity. So because of that, Vodzy was alone there, although there were doctors and nurses taking care of him.
At five in the morning, Vodzy was reading a manga titled "Hidamari ga Kikoeru" by Fumino Yuki. He really liked it. it was the third time he had re-read it. In addition, he read the manga "ReLIFE" by Yayoi Sou afterward. He admired it a lot, even though it was the first time he had seen such an impressive storyline.
At 7 am, he ate the food provided by the hospital. He ate slowly because it was bland and tasteless. He ate in order to take his medicine.
After eating and taking his medicine, Vodzy asked the nurse to accompany him to the front garden of the hospital to relieve his boredom and to get some fresh air.
The nurse agreed, and they walked out of the hospital building. As they stepped outside, they unexpectedly saw Samudra in front of them. He was carrying a bag with clothes for Vodzy.
Ehhh... Are you going for a walk? Let me handle it, nurse. Please take these to the room," Samudra asked the nurse to take the clothes and took over Vodzy.
"Alright," the nurse said, taking the bag of clothes.
After that, Vodzy and Samudra went outside to look at the quite beautiful garden.
"It's very beautiful, isn't it?" said Samudra.
"Mm... Have you finished packing up? And now shouldn't you be at school?" he asked.
"No... I took leave because I have to take care of you. I don't want you to be alone for too long," he said with a smile.
Seeing that smile made Vodzy's heart race. He didn't know what he was feeling at that moment. It felt very painful in his chest, yet it was something that made his heart happy... He didn't know, he was very innocent.
When Vodzy saw the beautiful flowers in front of him, from nowhere quickly Samudra kiss Vodzy's cheek.
"A kiss for today," Samudra said to Vodzy, feeling shy.
It wasn't just Samudra, but Vodzy also felt the same. His face turned red and he blushed. He didn't expect Samudra to be this bold in public. Vodzy felt a bit scared, especially since he was quite well-known, but his happiness still overshadowed his embarrassment.
"Atlaaaannn... what are you doing?" he said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...but I'd like to..."
They both fell into a brief silence.
They continued to walk around the park, at least until noon. Since it was already winter, the temperature had dropped to 4°C during the day, so it didn't feel hot. They spent their time in the park, completely unaware of it. Vodzy no longer felt lonely like before.
'Is this what it feels like to be loved by someone sincerely, without expecting anything in return?'
At that moment, Vodzy just smiled foolishly, not really understanding anything, but feeling something he had never experienced with anyone before. It felt so warm.
While they were still enjoying their conversation, suddenly Hana arrived at the hospital and met them in the park.
"Oh, you guys are here. Anyway, I cooked some food for you guys."
Vodzy and Samudra replied happily, "Thank you, Hana, for giving us the food you cooked. I bet your food is really delicious." Samudra said.
"Thank you very much, Hana,"
Hana only smiled, she was happy when her friends were happy, "Hmm, it's already mid-day. Let's eat together..."
"Okay..."
The three of them then headed to the hospital cafeteria to have lunch together.
At the table, they discussed something that was somewhat important, "It's December now and soon it will be the winter break, so what will you guys do?" Hana asked as she sipped her drink.
"I don't know, usually at the end of the year I have to go to the US to meet my mum..."
"Huh, your mom is not coming back? I thought you said she would come home for Christmas?" Hana was a bit surprised.
"I don't know about that, but she said next year..." he said with a sad face.
"I know, but you said that last year, so it should be now..." Hana was a little confused.
"I don't know... don't think about it..."
Seeing them talking, Vodzy was a bit confused. On one hand, he didn't know anything about his family, and on the other hand, he was confused about what to do when he might have to meet his boyfriend's mother. He truly couldn't think of anything.
As they were eating they food, out of nowhere Hana asked Vodzy, "And what about you....? What are you planning to do this Christmas? Will you be spending time with your family?"
"Gufkk..." Vodzy was surprised by the question and momentarily choked on his food. He then drank some water to soothe his throat
Samudra helped him by giving him some water, "Ahh, when someone's eating, you shouldn't ask questions suddenly, my beloved Hana.."
"Haha, sorry, I didn't mean it like that... Just asking a small question" She replied.
Ring Ring Ring....
The ringtone of Hana's phone rang and she left to answer the call.
Meanwhile, Samudra wiped off the food that had fallen from Vodzy's mouth onto his shirt.
"You can take a shower and change your clothes when you go back to your room," Samudra said as he continued to wipe.
Vodzy felt happy... He had never experienced something this simple before. It warmed his heart, knowing that there were people who truly loved him.
